Morgan ate all of her jelly toast and thirds on dried mangoes at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her beef and bean burrito and her tropical fruit and a couple bites of sweet potatoes.
Morgan 'read' a BIG stack of books to herself and three stuffed animals (Minnie Mouse, Sleep-time Bear and one of the Winnie the Poohs). Several of this set have nursery rhymes in them and several of them she was quoting along with the correct book. One of the cutest things I observed when she was reading today was when she was holding the Pooh guy on her lap and looking at a book about Winnie the Pooh. She got the hugest smile and announced, "Reading Pooh bear a story about Pooh bear!" : )
Morgan worked so hard to complete the alphabet puzzle out with this set. Yesterday she had dumped it all out then put together about half of it before saying, "It too hard. I need help!" I knew she could do it, but it does take quite a while (with 26 pieces) and she didn't have the stamina yesterday. Today she stuck with it until she got it!
Kenzie went to the doctor before she came today and had a sticker on her shirt at breakfast time. Morgan asked if she got the sticker on her shirt and that started a great discussion about who had gotten stickers at the doctor and what kind of stickers they were. I didn't say a word the entire time, but they were all animatedly participating.
Gary talked to his mom briefly on the phone today and when he got off, Morgan asked him who he was talking to. Gary told her it was his mom and that her name was June. Morgan exclaimed, "Really?" That made me laugh, especially after Gary brought to my attention that I say, "really" a lot.

Morgan ate all of her prunes and seconds on cinnamon roll at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her watermelon, most of her waffles, about half of her hashbrowns and a bite of her scrambled eggs.
Kenzie invited Morgan to come "read" with her. They were looking at a book that had a bunch of different colored airplanes in it. Kenzie was asking her, "Do you like that one?" about each plane. They "read" several books together, interacting like that the entire time. Many of the things I heard them say were the types of things I always say and types of questions I ask regularly when I read stories to them. Modeling sure has a big impact even then we aren't really doing it intentionally!
I can't even remember what got it started now, but the kiddos started bringing me a stuffed animal (the character type ones are out right now, like Big Bird and Pooh) and I would try to think of a song relating to either the character or what it represented. After I had done a couple, they started bringing them by the arm load and I think I literally sang a song about every single one we had out! Some were quite a stretch, but the kiddos all loved it.
One of the "animals" that was out was a turtle. I don't know the character that he is supposed to me, but I made him into our "Tucker the Turtle". Tucker is a character in a book we have about making good behavior choices (using words rather than yelling, hitting, grabbing...; stopping when you are angry and tucking inside you shell -- keeping your hands and body to yourself-- taking deep breaths to calm yourself and then coming up with a good choice or plan). Using the stuffed animal really increased everyone's interest and participation in the "story".

Morgan ate all of her mixed fruit and her Kix cereal at breakfast. At lunch she ate most of her ham sandwich and all of her steamed broccoli and her mandarin oranges.
Morgan had fun exploring all of the "new" toy exchange stuff (actually they were so engaged in some of it that there were some things that didn't even get off of the shelves). No one played with dolls yet or wanted to do puzzles, for example.
Coral was here and Morgan loves her to pieces. She spent a lot of time watching what Coral was doing, sitting by her doing what she was and just hanging out by her.
One of the main things Morgan was thrilled about this morning was finding the stuffed Minnie Mouse and the Sleepytime Care Bear. She told me, "He's sleepy like grumpy!" I think she meant that they were both Care Bears, but she may think that Grumpy bear is sleepy looking also, I don't know.
Coral helped the kiddos build a "house" with the big interlocking blocks that was just big enough for one child inside. She built it tall enough so that we had to lift each kiddo into it. When they got in, they each loved squatting down inside to "hide" and Morgan thought is was really great when Coral then put a blanket over the top to make it dark briefly. Talk about chuckling...
