Morgan ate all of her malt-o-meal and seconds on raisins at breakfast. At lunch she ate a couple bites of mixed fruit and all of her meaty spaghetti, curly noodles and corn (substituted for salad).
Morgan stopped fussy and being a "turkey" almost immediately. I asked her if she wanted to go to the window to wave bye and she adamently said "No!" and started to fuss again, so I didn't push it. It is so crazy how they get bent out of shape about something or something in their head and it just rules.
Morgan was very engaged in "cooking" basically until we started singing when Gary was setting up greakfast. I love how she can become and stay so engaged with something like that. She is actually almost always well engaged.
I have begun to do my focused observations and "testing" for the developmental checklist and Morgan is really enjoying being "tested". She always wants to do it first (and next), do it for as long as I will let her and then do it again when everyone has had their turns. It is funny. I was working mostly on the cognitive skills today and she excels there.
Today Gary was singing with the kiddos in the back room while I was settin gup lunch. After they had finished a song or two, Gary asked the kiddos if they wanted him to put on some music or sing some more. He said Morgan stopped what she was doing and thought (you could see the wheels turning) then emphatically said, "Music!" He was wondering if he should be offended or not. : )

9/22/11
Morgan ate about half of her English muffin and all of her blueberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate everything -- canned chicken on saltines, canned cherries and homemade potato salad.
Morgan was feeding Jadey play breakfast with one of the combs. When I saw what she was doing, I cracked up. I mentioned that there were forks on the shelf if she preferred and she raced right over and got one to switch with. She is really listening and absorbing language right now!
Morgan was getting a kick out of playing with her reflection in the stainless steel sink in the little kitchen set. She was moving her head and trying to catch it, laughing at it and just experimenting in general. From almost very angle, the reflection is upside down, so that was probably what made her laugh. It also distorts it quite a bit, which may have been funny to her also.
Gary had made a "sidewalk" out of the big interlocking blocks from the block shelf to the big window step. Gary just thought it was a "sidewalk" because as soon has he was done Morgan and Alayna both sat on it on their bottoms, started sliding from one end to the other and saying "Choo-choo" as they scooted. : )

As soon as I got the words out of my mouth she started pointing to each of the other kiddos and saying "Wuv Kenzie, wuv Emmy, wuv Jozzy, wuv Layna." I thought that was pretty selfless. She wanted to make sure I "wuvved" them all! : )

Morgan ate most of her peaches and all of her biscuit at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her baked beans and about half of her pineapple, broccoli and dinner roll.
Morgan was so sweet this morning. Alayna was a little sad coming in and I mentioned that I would help her find a baby and blanket to cuddle with. Morgan obviously heard me because, within a minute, she had a doll and blanket in her hand and was holding it up to us saying, "Here Layna!" It was super sweet!
Morgan was playing with Gary for a while today. They were "eating" food. Morgan would give him a bite of "food" and then point to the jelly jar she was pretending was his juice and told him "drink". They did this routine over and over -- bite, "drink", bite, "drink"...
Morgan comes up and asks me, "What doin'?" many times a day, especially during the morning. Sometimes it is when I am actually doing something like taking notes on the kiddos or changing a diaper and other times I am just sitting and observing. I have had other kiddos ask that before, but she always actually seems interested. : )

Morgan ate all of her hashbrowns and seconds on waffles at breakfast. At lunch she ate all or her oranges and her sauteed shrimp, most of her rice and a bite of colored pepper.
Morgan was being very sweet to Emily and I had her come over and give me "five". We ended up giving "fives" and "knuckles" over and over (probably at least 10 minutes). She was really getting a kick out of it.
She had another great morning with no negativism or melt-downs. She is so super fun when she is in a good mood -- aren't we all!? We were playing and just having a wonderful time. She was laughing a lot this morning and very playful.
She loves being our helper -- bringing and taking stuff from Gary and I, picking stuff up and putting it where it goes, letting us know when someone is doing something they aren't supposed to... She just lights up when I ask, "Morgie, do you want to help me?"
There were a bunch of birds playing around outside the big window today and they all had a great time lining up at the window and watching them. They were making bird sounds and trying to get their attention, spooking them a little, but not bad.

Morgan ate about half of her banana and all of her cheerios at breakfast. At lunch she ate a bite of her apple bits and about half of both her grilled cheese sandwich and her tomato soup.
Morgan was really examining the "peek-a-boo" blocks. They are clear and have a wide variety of things inside to look at. Some of them shake, squeak or move. She must have looked at about 20-30 of them.
When she was done with that she then went over to the box, where Gary had put the big interlocking blocks and started taking them out and putting them on the floor. She did a wonderful job of putting them down gently rather than throwing them. After she got them all out she started putting them together and told me it was a "idewalk" (sidewalk).
Morgan was talking on one of the play phones today and saying "Hi Grammy!" It was pretty cute. When she was done with it, she handed it to Kenzie, put it up to her ear and told her to "Talk!" Kenzie grinned all over and did some "talking" before Morgan took it back and went back to talking to Grammy. ; )
Morgan kept trying to comb other kiddo's hair with the play combs out today. I reminded her several times to "Only comb your own hair". About 15 minutes later Joslyn was trying to comb Morgan's hair and Morgan told her, "No! Own hair!" It was great! : )
