5/20/2011

Morgan ate about half of her craisins and all of her oatmeal at breakfast.  At lunch she ate most of her applesauce, about half of her noodle and pea casserole and bites of ground hamburger.

Morgan played with a doll, blanket and bottle off and on until we went outside after doing free draw.  She was rocking and singing to her, feeding her and laying her down to cover up.  I love watching her while she does baby play, because she is always very engaged and has a very sweet look on her face.

Morgie had one pretty good tantrum outside when Gary tried to redirect her from playing with the downspout on the shop, but did very well other than that.  She was saying "AhKay" (OK) frequently when I reminded her of rules or asked to to do something again today, which is awesome.

Bode's big brother was stuck for a place to go (he was out of school because of kindergarten round-up) so came here today.  That changed the dynamic some, obviously.  They 5 big kiddos were being kind of rowdy as they took apart the block building so they could build something different and Morgan had to be right in the middle of the craziness!

Outside this morning Morgan was bringing me balls to throw out into the yard for her to chase today.  She has been doing it all week in the afternoons.  To let me know what she wants me to do, she gets a ball, brings it over and either hands it to me or throws it at me, then turns around and points out to the yard in front of her.  As soon as I throw it, she chuckles or squeals then takes off after it.  I feel kind of like I am playing "Fetch".

Morgan ate thirds on both blueberries and blueberry bread pudding at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her green beans and bites of her turkey burger on a bun but no kiwi.

Morgan had a much better morning than yesterday.  Hurray!  She only had a couple of meltdowns or tantrums, but non as long or intense as yesterday's.  She was also saying "Uh K" for OK several times when I reminded her of different rules throughout the morning.  That was awesome!

Morgan was entertaining me by practicing jumping off the step in the big room.  She started out by just kind of stepping off then was working on doing the two footed jump.  She had lots of crashes followed by laughter, but did have a couple total successes where she stuck the landing!  She was very excited and proud of herself.

Morgan found the hat to the cow costume and brought it over to me.  I helped her put it on and she went straight to the mirror to look and see wheat she thought.  She looked and then grinned and chuckled.  She obviously was pleased.

Keenan was trying to find someone to "put to bed" today and Morgan was more than happy to go lay on the "pillow" he had made to play the game.  Keenan covered her up after she got laid down and settled.  Morgan loved it (grinning and chuckling).  She lay there so nicely until Keenan told her it was time to "wake up".  : )

5/18/2011

I hate to only give rough news, but today wasn't a very good day for our little Morgie.  She had one tantrum or melt-down after another this morning.  She just couldn't regroup with time away, ignoring or trying to cuddle her.  All the other babies (and kiddos) were picking up on it and getting fussy to, so we finally put her in her crib in the little room at 8:45.  She was sound asleep in about 5 minutes.  I was going to wake up for breakfast, but she was out so hard, it decided it was probably what she needed more than anything and let her sleep.  She slept until 10:00.

After she woke up she just wanted to snuggle for abut 5 minutes with her little head just buried in my neck.  She cuddled several other times throughout the rest of the morning too and was still out of sorts several times, but not quite as intensely.

She didn't eat breakfast and only at her burrito at lunch, so I am wondering if she isn't feeling good.  She had a poopy diaper right after lunch, but it was pretty "normal" and she wasn't warm.  I just don't know what is up.  She didn't really play much -- either fussed or cuddled.  I am curious to see how much she sleeps this afternoon and how she does after that.

Morgan ate all of her dried plums and seconds on cinnamon roll at breakfast.  At lunch she ate very little.  All I actually saw her eat was a bite of waffles.  We had waffles, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and melon.

Morgan had an extremely yucky smelling and looking poopy diaper first thing this morning.  It was pretty reddish in color and super strong.

Morgan went to the window three different times (after breakfast) that I saw and was waving at no one and saying "Bye!"  It was really cute.  One time there was someone on the Briggs street sidewalk across the road that it may have been to, but the other times there was literally no one there.

Morgan loves the rocking horses.  She can really get them rocking!  She tips her head back and just chuckles.  I think she must like the look or sensation in the position because she does it a lot!

Morgan has really been enjoying the farm duplo things.  Her favorite seems to be the fence pieces and she will put them together on top of each other to make a fence "tower" type of building.

Morgan brought me a blanket today with no doll, so on a whim, I cuddled her up to me and wrapped the blanket around her and started singing "Good-night Morgie" over and over and she loved it.  When I finished it, she would either put her foot down to make me rock again and start singing, "Nigh-nigh" or she said "again".  It was so cute and funny.  I must have ended up doing it for about 5 minutes.  When she finally was done, Jadey and Joslyn both wanted turns.  For a while I had all three of them on my lap!  : )

Morgan ate about half of her mixed fruit and seconds on Chex cereal at breakfast.  At lunch she ate seconds on steamed broccoli and all of her ham sandwich and mandarin oranges.

Morgan spent the first 20 minutes or so after she got here looking around at all the "new" toy exchange stuff.  After a while she started spending more time playing and less wandering.  One of the things she really enjoyed was playing with the little play phones.  She was pushing all the buttons to make the different phone sounds and also putting it up to her ear and listening and saying, "Hi!"

Morgan had several short, but intense tantrums early this morning, with it getting better as the morning went on.  Basically all of them happened when we correct or re-directed her.  Many of them were when she was trying to take someone else's toy and we would either have her give it back or "find another one".

Morgan was very excited when I started dressing all of the baby dolls that didn't have clothes on them.  She was making this cute little chuckle-deep squeal sound and prancing back and forth on first one foot then the other excitedly.  After I got the first one done, she covered it up and started singing, "Nigh-Nigh" to it!

Morgan put on and took off the cowboy hat multiple times today.  Each time she would race over to the mirror and look at herself to see what she thought.  It was pretty cute!
