11/11/11

Morgan ate all of her oatmeal and about half of her craisins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her applesauce and her pasta pea dish, most of her ground burger.

Morgan and Joslyn spent at least 5 minutes looking at the "Faces Poster" we made and have up on the wall by the reading area.  They each had a play knife and were using them as pointers.  They would point to a face and say the name of who it was, then move on to the next one.  After several minutes of this Morgan got stuck on the one of Jadey making a silly face by pulling the sides of her mouth out.  Morgan started trying to imitate what Jadey was doing in the picture.  She them raced over to look at herself in the mirror to see if she was doing it right (at least that's what it looked like), then back to the photo, back to the mirror, photo, mirror...  She probably repeated this about 5 times before she was satisfied and chuckled at herself before moving on to doing something else.

Morgna had a little white fence duplo piece in her hand and was banging on one of the regular duplos with it.  She then turned to me and asked, "A hammer?"  She is always thinking!

Again Morgan was playing with the duplo Winnie the Pooh character and suddenly lay him down on his belly, patted him on the back and said, "You sleep tight!"  It was so cute.  After a little (when he 'woke up') she started putting one of the duplo flowers up to Pooh's mouth.  She told me "I feed her!"

11/10/11

Morgan ate all of her blueberries and most of her blueberry pudding at breakfast.  At lunch she ate everything -- turkey burger on a bun, green beans and kiwi.  I also gave them some dill pickle slices (because I had put some on my turkey burger.  Morgan loved them and had seconds.

Morgan decided she wanted to "find Charlie" not long after she had gotten here.  There are actually two of the duplo creatures that look like Charlie.  She found one of them pretty easily in the duplo drawer.  We looked and looked for the other one and I told her he must be playing hide-and-seek with us so we were going to have to look hard.  We finally found him hiding in the couch cushions.  When I found him and scolded him for hiding so well that he had scared us.  Morgan cracked up and was saying "Naughty Charlie!" over and over.  It was pretty funny!

Morgan put her slippers on by herself this morning after a little.  She started to put them on the wrong feet so I told her about it.  She chuckled and said, "Silly Morgan!"  I obviously say that about us all frequently, because most of the verbal kiddos say that (usually about me!).

Morgan looked at the potty book for quite a while this morning.  The book has a button you push to make it sound like a toilet flushing.

This morning Morgan was standing in front of the mirror watching herself as she pushed up her sleeves then pulled them back down repeatedly.  it was awesome because she was saying "Up!" as she pushed them up and "Down!" as she pulled them back down.  It amazes me what they can make into a learning episode!

11/9/11

Morgan ate all of her whole wheat toast with jelly on it and thirds on dried mangoes at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her beef and bean burrito and her tropical fruit and most of her sweet potato.

Morgan kept bringing me one of the phones to talk on.  It was either Mommy, Daddy, Grammy, or Charlie.  She loved it when I talked to Charlie because I made kitty sounds into the phone.  She just stood there and chuckled!

Morgan unhooked and took down about half of the dress-up clothes, carried them across the room to me and asked, "You want 'em?"  When I told her "No, thank you!"  She said, "OK!" then trucked back over to the dress-up hooks and dumped them on the floor in front of it.  Things like that always make me wonder what is going through the kiddos' heads.

Morgan gave Gary a love today then he kind of tickled her as she moved away from him.  She immediately went back to him and said, "again" for him to get her some more.  I think that is so cute how they interact differently with him than they do me.  He is always the one they are trying to get to get them and be rowdy with them.  They know I am more mild and less rowdy, I guess.  Either way, we make a great team!

11/8/11

Morgan ate all of her prunes and seconds on cinnamon roll at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her melon and about half of her scrambled eggs, hashbrowns and waffles with syrup.

Morgan kept looking into the binoculars today and saying, "I find deer".  Part of the time it was either a fawn or a herd of bucks, but some of the time it was something different.  : )

Morgan brought over a duplo panda bear, polar bear, and two people to Gary and asked him to "Help!"  Gary made her a great podium type thing and sat them each on it.  She was thrilled and carried it around, protecting it for at least 10 minutes.

Morgan is getting very interactive at both music time and story time.  She always answers all of the questions we ask at story time, points things out and listens great.  At music time she has a song to request whenever I ask for another song idea (even if I am actually asking someone else).

11/7/11

Morgan ate all of her breakfast (Kix cereal and mixed fruit).  At lunch she ate all of her steamed broccoli, most of her ham sandwich and about half of her mandarin oranges.

Morgan was having a blast stirring the Velcro fruits and vegetables in the little kitchen sinks.  She was using one of the play knives as her spoon and was really getting into it, so much that some of the fruits and veggies flew out of the sink a couple times.  One of the reasons why she found it to be so fun probably is that it is really loud in the stainless steel sink bowl.  : )

I put on some "dance music" for them today and Morgan had a turn dancing with all of the other kiddos (that were awake).  She must have decided she liked Joslyn's style best because she left her, tried everyone else and came back to her again.  They danced together the rest of the time.  When she danced with Kenzie, Kenzie kept trying to pull Morgan over.  When she and Jadey danced they both wanted to have their hands on top and it just didn't work very well (you have to have a leader and a follower -- not two leaders).  When she and Joslyn got really dancing Morgan looked at me and said, "I crazy!"  That cracked me up!

Morgan has bit several times this last week.  One of them was with Joslyn today.  She chomped on her hand.  Needless to say, she had a break away from the kiddos for a while.

Kenzie and Morgan play serving "Coffee" almost every morning.  Often all of the "big" girls get into it then.  Usually it is when a couple of them are sitting at the little picnic table.  One of them will jump up and start asking "You want coffee?" then go to the sink and start getting and serving coffee to the others.
