4/27/12

Morgan ate all of her rice and raisins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her cooked carrots and dried apricots, about half of her french bread (and tried to lick all of the butter off) and about half of her meatloaf also.

Morgan kept putting pretend things in my hands this morning and telling me they were "rainbow beads".  She has done this a couple other times in the past, but this morning she was doing it for a long time.

Morgan and most of the other kiddos were super wild before breakfast.  They were racing around, being loud and just having a great time (unless they crashed into someone else while being crazy or someone was impeding their progress).  After breakfast they all kind of settled back down into typical mode, which was way more manageable.

Kenzie and Morgan were being silly today.  They were walking back and forth across the big room - walking backwards one direction and frontwards the other.  What made the whole thing funnier was that they were making "beep"ing sounds when they were going backwards (just like the big trucks do when they back up).  I didn't notice who started that, but it was pretty cute!

Kenzie was upset with Morgan for something and was kind of moaning and fussing about it.  Morgan came over to her and told her firmly, "I don't want to hear that!"  Hmmm....  I guess she told her!

One of the kiddos found what looked like a little piece of popcorn on the floor this morning and brought it to me.  Morgan lit up and announced, "I'm gonna eat popcorn in bed!"  : )

Gary and I talked it over and have decided to leave "Grumpy Bear" out for Morgan to chill out with when she needs to.  We have decided to put in out in the living room on my rocking chair and she can just ask and go out to cuddle with it when she wants.  That way, we don't have to worry about the stress to her of other kiddos using it when she wants it and so forth.  We tried it out today and she really seemed to like that.  She went out and cuddled with it 4 different times.  One was for several minutes, but the others were shorter.  It is really cute though because she always gives him a kiss "good-bye" before she comes back out to play.  : )

Morgan, Kenzie, Jadey and Emily were all playing over at the little picnic table with the food stuff and Morgan announced, "It ready time!  Come eat it!"  Thomas and Peyton immediately went over and sat at the table, wanting to get in on it!

Morgan climbed up beside me on the couch this morning and announced loudly, "Sing songs!"  I really hadn't planned on doing it at that specific time, but all of the kiddos came running, so I decided it was as good of a time as any!  : )

4/25/12

Morgan was a little out of sorts that Grumpy Bear was in the dryer this morning and told me several times, "I need my Grumpy Bear".  I asked her if she wanted to cuddle with the Micky Mouse blanket until Grumpy was dry and that sufficed, thankfully!  : )

Morgan watch Kenzie and had to imitate exactly what she had on (dress-ups), was carrying and was doing for about 20 minutes this morning.  They both had on dress-up shoes, a purse over their arm, a serving tray in their hand and were marching around the room like they were really going somewhere.  It was cute in itself, but what made it really funny was that Thomas was obviously watching them, because he grabbed a purse and play bowl and was following along several steps behind them trying to be one of the "big" kids too.  : )

Several of the kiddos were pretending to sunscreen each other today, which was really funny.  They were telling each other to "close you eyes" then saying, "spray-spray-spray..." and rubbing the "sunscreen into their arms and faces.  They would do the "spraying" until the child had actually closed their eyes and were ready.  I don't actually spray their faces, just my hand and then rub it over their face, so I thought that was funny!

The baby monitor was on and having a lot of static for some reason, so I just went over and shut it off for a little.  When I did, Morgan  (who was looking at books independently) looked up at me and said, "That's better!"  I agreed!  it was getting on my nerves too.  : )

4/24/12

Morgan was sitting on Grumpy bear and reading a lot this morning.  She did play with a couple of the other bears too, today though.  She picked up one of the littler ones and requested me to turn on the music.  She was doing some pretty good dancing with Mr. Bear.  She was spinning and then falling over on purpose and saying that bear was dizzy.

Morgan was also just spinning to the music with her tutu on.  She was so into watching the tutu poof out that she kept crashing.  At first she thought it was funny and was laughing, then she kind of bonked into the changing table with her arm as she fell and it wasn't near as funny.  She needed Grumpy Bear to snuggle and make it better after that.

4/23/12

Morgan ate all of her Chex cereal and a couple bites of her mixed fruit at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her apple slices and drank all of her tomato juice and a bite of her roast beef sandwich.

Morgan was being very silly today off and on.  She was saying "uh...uh...uh..." then told me "just like Thomas".  She is right.  He makes that sound a lot to get attention or when he is trying to tell us something.  The funny thing about it, though is that he wasn't here today!  : )

Morgan and Kenzie were walking around with their purses over their arms and dress up shoes on their feet.  Morgan lost one of her shoes so I said, "Uh, oh!  You blew a shoe!"  She just cracked up!  I didn't even think about why she was laughing so hard until I saw her and Kenzie all bent over blowing on their shoes!  Another perfect example of how concretely they think!  : )  (And yes, I should have known that!)

Morgan picked up one of the play flip phones to use it this morning and brought it over to me with a disgusted look on her face, saying "It got slime on it!"  Sure enough Riley had been chewing on it and it was pretty drooly.  I cleaned it off for her and all was well!  : )

It cracks me up how every time she sees or hears an airplane she always says or asks "Gonna Arizona? or "Gonna airport?"  I love how their frame of reference is so small and yet rules so much!  : )
