Morgan took her usual morning nap but was pretty restless through it. When she woke up she as poopy and then had her morning bottle about 10:30. At lunch she ate all of her hot dog bun and green beans and a few bits of grapes. I also did chop up and give her about a quarter of a hot dog, but she only at a couple bits of it.
Morgan was "stuck" at the gate multiple times today. She loves going over, pulling herself up to it, stepping up onto the wood and watching whoever happens to be out in the kitchen (making bottles, getting breakfast, roommate Kate getting ready for school...), then she doesn't like it so much when she is done and wants down. I think it is so funny how they almost all seem to go through that stage -- getting up on things is great, but NOT getting down.
Morgan has started being the morning greeter lately. Many times when one of the parents/kiddos walks in, she will smile big and either say, "Hi!" or "Hi-ya!", which I believe is her "hello". She did it to Bode's big brother, Tate, today and he thought it was very cute!
Morgan spent a substantial amount of time first thing this morning trying to avoid Connor's kisses. He was quite determined and I had to move him several times when he kept trying to persist even though Morgan wasn't into it at all. Some men! They need to learn to respect a girls "no" a little better than that! : )
Morgan was really into playing with the little zoos in the back room today and pushing the buttons that make all of the different animals sounds. She really likes the monkey's sound and the elephants and almost always chuckled when they did it.

Happy birthday, Morgan! I can hardly believe she is already a year old! It seems like you guys just came to the program a few short month ago. Wow!
Morgan had a pretty normal morning -- slept about 15 minutes longer than typical and only drank 4 ounces of her morning bottle. She was kind of having a hard time breathing while she was drinking, so I think that contributed to the less amount. At lunch Morgan ate all of her baked beans, biscuit and broccoli and about half of her pineapple.
She figured out how to pull herself up and step up onto the step on the back of the big room book rack today. At first she was kind of crowing like a proud little rooster at the great accomplishment, then she realized that she didn't feel to confident about getting back down and started fussing because she thought she was 'stuck' there. I showed/helped her step down backwards, but if she is like all of the other kiddos throughout the years, it will take several repetitions of that before she feels safe/comfortable enough to do it on her own.
She has decided that it is fun to crawl in and out of the "igloo" in the big room. She likes to peek out and find me with a big grin and chuckle. I think it is kind of a form of "peek-a-boo" for her. It is really cute. She did it over and over again yesterday afternoon and this morning.
Morgan was kind of drumming off and on in the back room, but when I put on a music CD she really got excited and was banging that drum like she was in concert! : ) It was really cute.

Morgan followed her regular morning schedule pretty closely, except going to sleep a little earlier than usual and waking up about that same amount of time earlier. She had a morning bottle, but no breakfast (sleeping).
Morgan woke up before we switched to the back rooms today and was not a whole lot of help while we were cleaning up. She seemed to be drawn like a magnet to what had just been picked up and put on the shelf. Of course those things looked way more appealing than anything that was still lying on the floor. : )
Jadey decided to take advantage of Gary reading stories and me feeding Kenzie to terrorize Morgan. She was trying to pry her hand off of the gate wrung, nudging her with her body, putting her feet on her... despite all of the verbal directions to move away from Morgan. We finally had to interrupt what we were doing to move Jadey away. Morgan never did cry, but verbally let her know she did NOT appreciate it.
Morgan spent some time drumming on the drums in the back room when we first switched to our small groups back there. She was doing it independently at first and later on, she sat down by Bode and he shared one of his drumsticks for Morgan to drum with him. It was pretty sweet!

Although Morgan doesn't turn one until Wednesday, I thought I would start doing her on-line journal now. We do the infant sheets until age one, typically, then start doing actual journals. We are only able to do journals at nap time, while kiddos are sleeping, so most of the activities listed are from the morning. I also don't keep track of diaperings or naps unless requested by parents. I will try to let you know if she had a morning nap and if it was anything out of the ordinary -- really short, long or interrupted. If any of those are things you do want me to continue, please let me know. Also, with this medium, you can also give any of your family members her blog address and they can keep up on her child care days if you want.

Morgan crawled up the soft climber today and kept crawling until she bumped her head into the wall on the other side, which made her just furious. She has done this several morning now and I keep showing her how to either back down the stairs or slide off the side, but... : ) She will have to learn it for herself, I am sure. That is usually how they (and we) do things.
Another thing that Morgan has been doing repeatedly is starting to wave 'good-night' each time I lay her down in the morning to change her before putting her to bed. She knows the routine and that I have her tell her friends and Gary goodnight after a dry diaper, so she starts early. It is really cute!
