10/12/12

Morgan ate everything at breakfast, oatmeal and prunes. A lunch she also ate everything. It was hash brown casserole, biscuit and mandarin oranges. She actually wanted more casserole but it was gone.

Morgan kind of vacillated between great and not happy. Several times she told me emphatically, "I don't want to do that!" about just random things. Or "that's not how I want it!" The rest of the time she played great both independently and with others.

Asked for music and said "then I can dance like crazy". Baby beluga was the first song so she and Emily got the book to go with it and forgot all about dancing.

Joslyn and Emily were in the igloo and Morgan pushed her way in. After she got in she lay down, taking up most of the igloo, and started trying to push them out with her feet. Joslyn used her words great and asked her to "quit kicking me". Morgan obviously did it again so Emily and Joslyn crawled out of the igloo and went somewhere else to play together. Morgan didn't like being left behind and came out of the igloo shortly and asked if she could sit by me and hold her animal. She sat there quietly for a few minutes then was back to her usual chatty self.

This weekend is toy exchange so the kiddos wanted to help load the  washing machine.  I wish there was a way that I could bottle up their enthusiasm for laundry and other mundane tasks to use as an adult today.  : )

Morgan also asked to me my helper at lunch and set up all of the cups, plates, spoons and put a biscuit on each plate.  Se is a great helper.

10/11/12

10/11/12

Morgan are all of her French bread and her cantaloupe at breakfast.  Morgan ate seconds on dried mangos and all of her turkey, crescent roll and squash.  When she was waiting to wash before lunch I told her that this was one of her favorite meals and she was very excited.  After she washed, she sat down at the table, very deliberately looked at each section of her plate and said with great drama, "this is one of my favorite meals?"  I cracked up!!!

Morgan likes to look at Trisha's keys in the morning when she brings Coral  She has several sets with her usually and they each have several different keychains or other accessories on them.  Morgan's favorites are the little key lights to push.

Morgan asked for her slippers, tried to put the on , but couldn't get them to feel okay.  She brought them over to me to fix.   I got them adjusted so they weren't bugging her.  About two minutes later she went over to the cowboy boots and tried to put them on over the slippers, which obviously didn't work, so off they went.  She left the cowboy boots on until breakfast announcing several times "I'm a cowboy".  When I tried to convince her she was a cowgirl, she switched it to "I'm a cowboy girl!"

Morgan started a great dance-off when I put on some dance music.  Everyone was trying to copy and keep up with her.  Every new song that came on she asked me to identify.  She loved it when and Elmo ones came on.

There is no Kenzie or Riley until next Tuesday because they went to the grandparents' farm.  Morgan didn't mind at all and really didn't seem to notice much.  She played mostly independently or with Emily.  She especially enjoyed playing with the stuffed farm animals behind and in the igloo.

Morgan asked Gary to "see the bears" on his computer web cam site.  He did and there was a close up of a big one eating a fish it had caught.  The kiddos were all thrilled.  Peyton said, "cool" when she saw it.  Morgan just wanted to "find more".

10/10/12

Morgan ate most of her whole wheat toast and a bite of her mixed berries at breakfast.  At lunch she ate thirds on bean and ham soup and on crackers and all of her kiwi and her ham.

Morgan brought me a handkerchief and I started to put it on her hear like a hair kerchief (bonnet style).  She laughed and said "no around my forehead" as she was making a halo motion above her head.  I put it on like a 'hippy' headband and she was thrilled.

Morgan and Kenzie played on and around the huge bear a lot after breakfast.  They were using one of the little farm animals as their babies and using the big bear for what looked like the family room and the igloo as their bedroom.

I told Morgan I would read when it was time after breakfast.  She went over to the clock, stood in front of it looking up at it and started counting...

In the igloo Kenzie and Morgan are playing and Kenzie told Morgan "just a minute and I will get them all lined up" talking about the animals.  Morgan then had to line Kenzie out about how they needed to be done -- "not on top of each other, silly".

They were also using the balance beam as a counter for their store.  Kenzie was the store keeper and Morgan and anyone else that wanted were the shoppers.  The picture above is of Morgan paying for her purchase.

10/9/12

Morgan ate all of her dried apricots and about half of her bagel thin at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her tilapia and applesauce and seconds on noodles and peas with shredded cheese on it.

Joslyn came with four braids in her hair today.  Emily saw it and told me she wanted "french" braids.  I figured she didn't actually know what that was and asked her if she wanted braids like Joslyn's.  She said "No, I want two french braids."  I did her two french braids.  Kenzie saw that and asked for "french braids like Emily's".  I did them and then Morgan asked for "french braids like Kenzie's".  Yes, I did them two.  I really didn't do much other than french braiding hair until 10:00 (except helping with breakfast).  : )

Kenzie, Emily and Morgan were playing a hide game on the rowdy side with lots of laughter.  Part of the time they were hiding themselves, but the majority of the time they were hiding different stuffed animals.  What cracks me up about it is that they never wait until they are found, but always have to either show themselves or their animal before the person who is "it" get to them.  : )

When the Twinkle Star song came on the iPod today Morgan got a very dreamy look in her eyes, started swaying from side to side with an arm full of stuffed animals and said, "That's my song!"  : )

When we went to the back room this morning, Morgan asked me to help them "build a train" and after we had it built she kept telling Kenzie that they were "going on a 'venture".  It was super cute.  Kenzie wasn't sure about that.  She thought they were "just getting water", but Morgan lined her out.  "Yeah, we getting water on our 'venture!"

10/8/12

Morgan ate all of her bran flakes and her craisins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate everything also -- cheese pizza, cauliflower and fruit salad.

At breakfast several of the kiddos started discussing craisins and whether they had them at their houses or not.  Morgan said, "We don't have any at our house yet, but we will buy one!"  I am not sure you can buy just on craisin, but...  All of the other kiddos either took the "need to buy" position or the "I have them at my house" position.  It is so funny what they decide to discuss sometimes!  : )

Morgan played with Kenzie first with the dolls and then doing some jumping on the mattress before coming over and telling me "I want to be alone.  Can I go to the back room?"  After I gave her the go-ahead, she went over and asked Emily if she wanted to go with her.  She was disappointed when Emily told her "No!  I'm poopy!"  Emily did go back and join her just as soon as Gary finished changing her.

Morgan, Joslyn, Emily and Kenzie were all taking turns jumping ON or OVER the huge bear while he was laying on the mattress close to the balance beam.  They were having a blast and really enjoyed it when I started doing a play-by-play of what I observed them doing!

Morgan started filling one of the cowboy hats with all kinds of food and other smaller toys from that side of the room.  Soon Emily and Joslyn joined in and the all hat their hats full.  Morgan described it as "I got spare stuff in my hat!"
