Morgan ate about half of her oatmeal and most of her prunes at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her hashbrown hamburger casserole, most of her mandarin oranges and a couple bites of her biscuit.
Wow! Morgan had a very difficult morning. She was super sensitive, very testy and overall on the brink of a melt-down most of the morning. She had three melt down and was just acting super tired and out of sorts.
She actually did some better after about 10:30, but still was right on the verge of falling apart if anyone looked at her crossways. I snuggled with her a lot when she wasn't being a turkey because she seemed to need (and want) the closeness. We read books, sang songs, visited and just cuddled. Even then it was touch and go if I didn't do something just right with the book or sing the song to the right tempo (or something!). :
She talked about Mommy quite a bit and on the phone was talking to both "Mommy" and "Daddy". Gary and were talking and wondered if she didn't get as much time with mom and dad and that could have been why she struggled today. I don't know, but we did our best to meet her needs. We even tried letting her lay down for a while to see if she needed a morning nap, but that didn't work either. She went right to sleep at actual nap time though, so I am hoping she will rest well and wake up her usual happy self.

9/29/11
Morgan ate most of her french toast and all of her cantaloupe at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her squash and dried mangoes and most of her sliced turkey and crescent roll.
Morgan gave me her "baby" to hold this morning so I put it in sitting position then sat it on one of the rocking horses and helped it "ride". Morgan laughed then came up and knocked her off onto the floor. I "cried" for the baby and Morgan really liked that. She kept imitating what I had done -- sitting, rocking, then knocking and crying. It was great!
Every time Morgan sees something that is on the "wrong" side, she will race over to it and say "Oh-thah (other) side" then gets it and take it to the "right" side. She always makes sure we she what a great helper she is and we give her lots of accolades (praise, 5s and hugs).
I put up four 8x11 collage posters of the children's faces today and Morgan was really studying them. At first she was just looking at all of the different pictures and chuckling at the funny ones. Later in the day I was having them find a "happy, sad, angry, silly, tires..." face and she was really enjoying that.

Morgan ate most of her mixed berries and about half of her whole wheat toast at breakfast. At lunch she ate most of her ham and all of her bean soup, saltines and kiwi.
Morgan was exctied to have her doll wave "bye" at you guys this morning. She went over and helped the doll "stand" up on the window sill then told it, "wave baby". When I went over and asked her if she wanted to stand up there by her baby, she emphatically told me she didn't. It was pertty cute because she was doing for the doll, just what we do with her. : )
Emily was getting frustrated because she couldn't get the duplo house's door and window back on. Morgan watched her struggle for a minute or so then went over and started trying to help her. When she couldn't get them either she gave it back to her and came over to tell me about it.
Out of the blue after breakfast Morgan came over to me, patted me on the leg to get my attention, then said, "Hi Lauralea! How doing?" It was super cute!

Her favorites today were walking up and down our stairs, differentiating big and little and then heavy and light. She never just wants to do them once, but repeatedly, of course. : )

Morgan ate all of her dried apricots and whole wheat bagel at breakfast. At lunch she ate about half of her tilapia and all of her applesauce and her pea pasta salad.
I know I have commented on this many time before, but Morgan just loves helping. Today, for example, Gary asked Morgan "will you help me, Morgie?" She immediately dropped what she was doing and announced "Yeah!" as she raced right over to him to she what she could do. Many times, even if we ask one of the other kiddos, she will be the one that comes running.
Morgan played with the pretend corn on the cob for quite a while this morning. She kept saying "Have cone, have cone" and it took me a little to realize she was talking about "corn" not "cone". : ) She was sharing bites of her "cone" with Kenzie, Jadey and me.
Morgan must have decided that our usual singing time wasn't long enough today because about 30 minutes later she came over and requested repeated songs. She had 5 different songs that she wanted to sing -- "Baa, baa" (black sheep), "Baa-Baa-Ran" (Barbara Ann), "twinkle tah" (star), "Bus", "Clap hands". It was really cute!
Morgan has really been enjoying drawing and has been making more smaller marks rather than the big side-to-side scribbles. That is a sign of moving to a new developmental stage in the motor skill area and very fun to see.

Morgan ate most of both her craisins and her cereal at breakfast. At lunch she ate everying -- cheese pizza, steamed broccoli and tropical fruit.
Morgan seemed to really like the farm/cowgirl theme in this toy exchange. She was trying on boots, cowboy hats, vests and riding on the rocking horses a lot of the morning. Sometimes she had everything on at once and others it was just one item at a time, but she almost always had on something while we were in the big room.
Morgan really likes our roommate, Kate. One of the kiddos a while back started calling her "Kate-a-roo" and we still call her that frequently to the kiddos. This morning Morgan saw Kate come back from going to the store and started chanting "Kate-a-roo, Kate-a-roo" over and over. Kenzie and Alayna chimed in with her and it was really cute. Kate loved it! : ) A little later Kate went outside to take something to the big trash can and Morgan asked, "Where Kate go?" then "There Kate!" when she came back in. : )
Morgan was "reading" book after book today. She was sitting at the little yellow bench and flipping through the pages of the book looking at pictures then saying loudly, "The end" as she finished and dropped the book on the floor.
Morgan and Kenzie were sitting side by side at the table today and Morgan had a play baked potato and fork that she was "eating" with. Kenzie saw what she was doing and kept saying, "A bite, a bite, a bite" until Morgan heard, understood her and gave her a pretend "bite". Both of them were happy then abnd continued to "eat" for a few minutes. It was really cute!
