Morgan ate all of her malt-o-meal and raisins at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her spaghetti and at least a tasting bite of her fruit salad and her grapes.
We did end up going over to the neighbor's yard sale and bought the big bear and a little outside play house deal. Kenzie loved playing with the BIG bear with Morgan. Actually it started with just Morgan and Emily for about the first half hour until someone else came. They cuddled
with it, wrestled with it, buried themselves under it, pulled it around,
talked to it, had it help them build with both the big blocks and the
duplos... Glad we purchased it! : )
Morgan didn't see that I had gotten the little house until she was looking out the window much later. I hadn't brought it around to the back because it needs washed up some. When Morgan looked out of the big window and saw it she announced, "Oh look! It's a guest house!" I am sure that will stick and it will be the "guest house" all the time now! : ) It was very cute.
Morgan and Kenzie played
in the box quite a bit today. Morgan labeled it "our bedroom" and Kenzie
was obviously going along with that because she pulled down and then
back up her skirt and panties, saying, "I'm gonna get dressed!" That
cracked me up!
Outside they spent most of the time playing in the
cars and big wheel bikes. We had to do a little bit of facilitation to make
sure everyone got turns in both, but they actually did an amazing job
of self-regulating.

8/2/12
Morgan ate all of her blueberries and about half of her cinnamon raisin bread at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her chicken on saltines and her potato salad and a bite of her canned cherries.
Warning -- it was a pretty rough day today! Read at your own risk. : )
It started out just fine, except she was yawning a lot and told me several times that she was tired, which is unusual. We began with her going over to the block poster and deciding that "we" needed to build the train-like one. "We" built it with 6 seats so that all of the bigger kiddos would have a place to sit (Jadey visited again today). Morgan was fine until other kiddos started coming then she decided that ALL of the seats were "mine" and didn't want to let anyone else sit on the train. We problem solved through that with only a minor melt-down, which was great.
Morgan, Kenzie and Jadey were all three playing together pretty peacefully at the lego table after that and building with the duplos. Emily came over and tried to stand my Morgan and I guess that was just more than she could stand because she whirled around and bit her on the arm (full set of teeth marks). When I made her leave the lego table there was another melt-down, though not severe. After she was ready to give Emily a love and ask her if she was all right, she came over to me and started chuckling and pointing to her shirt saying, "Oh no! Doggie broke!" I think that was a pretty good distraction technique.
After breakfast I had three kiddos on one side of the room and four on the other (with the littlest three taking their morning nap). Morgan did an awesome job of waiting her turn to "switch sides". She read some stories with Emily and even played with Thomas a little.
Outside Morgan decided that she needed to lay on the merry-go-round with her feet flailing around. Jadey obviously wanted her to quick kicking so she bit her (again hard enough to leave a full set of teeth marks) right above her ankle. Ugh!!! Cold cloth and ice pack here we come.
She was asleep almost immediately but has been fairly restless with three brief awakenings so far. Probably her cold bugging her!

Morgan ate all of her peaches and second on biscuit at breakfast. At lunch she ate everything -- baked beans, dinner roll, broccoli and pineapple.
Kenzie and
Morgan built with the duplos for probably half of our inside free
choice time. It was great because they spent part of the time working
at independent projects and the other working together. Morgan build an interesting looking creation and told me, "It's a present. It's 'berry' special!" Later on, Kenzie helped Morgan add duplos to the duplo truck she was "fixing".
Kenzie and Morgan built a 'stage' that was 5 or 6 big blocks high and just about perfectly sized for just the two of them to stand side-by-side on top of it to sing to the iPod. I said something about it being a "stage" and Kenzie again gave me that "what do you know?" look and informed me that it was their "sing ladder". Morgan piped right up and said, "Yeah, singing ladder". Well, at least they stick together! : )
It amazes me at how tune Morgan is with multiple things going on in the environment at the same time. Just as an example of what I mean, she is playing with the duplos with Kenzie and suddenly comments "The lava lamp is waking up!" Sure enough I glance up at the lava lamp way up on the shelf and it is starting to bubble and move some. I turn it on when we start work and it takes about 60 -80 minutes before it starts doing much. No one has said anything about the lava lamp to draw her attention to it, so it is just her being aware of her surroundings.
Another example is audio, rather than visual. Someone will ask for the music on so I will turn on the iPod to one of my Kid playlists and just let it run it's course. All of the kiddos are busy playing and seemingly oblivious to the music. Suddenly Morgan will belt out a phrase or line (or song) along with the iPod. You would swear that she didn't even know it was playing and then suddenly, "I'll turn you into a goonie bird" pops out at just the right time and with just the right tone inflection. It just cracks me up.

7/31/12
Morgan ate thirds on waffles and all of her hashbrowns at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her shrimp, about half of her rice, a couple bites of rice and of green beans.
Morgan was very excited that Coral and Jadey were both here today. It was as if Jadey hadn't even been gone. The dynamics picked right back up where they had left off and the friend/foe play intact.
Coral decided that we should do bath foam finger painting and all of the kiddos (except Peyton) were very excited and engaged in that. Coral also hid the play keys around the big room and then had the kiddos try to find them. They all thought that was great!
For some reason, probably Jadey's noticing the "new" item, the lava lamp! Gary got it off the shelf and put it down onto the top of the block shelf, pushed it way back where they couldn't reach it (because it gets pretty hot) so they would watch it easier.
Outside the kiddos ran races with Gary and then chased bubbles outside. She also was entertaining Gary and when I asked her what she was doing, she said she was "making silly Gary laugh."

Morgan was very excited about the toy exchange and pretty much spent some time checking it all out (except the puzzles). They were all very engaged most of the morning. She also had a great morning as far as being a goof friend, listener and cooperative. There were a couple incidents that could have easily led to melt downs, but Morgan handled them well.
One of the first things she spent any time at all on was the tool benches. She figured out how to get the "nails" in right a way, but was having a difficult time with the screws. She started to get frustrated and then remember to ask for help. I was very proud of her for that. I showed her how to do it, but she kind of cross-threaded it and it wouldn't go in, so I helped her do it then, using the hand over hand method. After I helped her with the first one she got the rest of them without my help and was very proud of that.
Morgan and Kenzie then must have decided that the work boots would make good tool boxes because they both started filling them with "nails", "screws" and tools.
