11/12/2010

Morgan ate all of her raisins and a couple bites of brown rice at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of the saucy noodles (with a little hamburger accidentally along with it) and only a bite of both her salad with ranch dressing (chopped fine) and her mixed fruit.

She was pretty fussy most of the morning (except when she was napping).  Even during meals she was fussing, which is very unlike her.  She started out pretty early so I put her down for about an hour nap before breakfast.  She woke up on her own and had breakfast, but acted like she was still tired.

She did play intermittently, but would stop right in the middle of whatever she was doing and get a growly look and start fussing again.  I took her temp and tried cuddling her, but nothing was quite what she wanted.  When I put her back down for an afternoon nap after lunch, she actually smiled and made cooing sounds like that was what she had been wanting all along.  ???  : )  Maybe she is just growing and needing more rest!

She was standing on the spinning part of the sit and spin again today and doing what I have come to call the "Sit and Spin Dance".  She doesn't move it much just very short back and forth motions.  : )

Even though she wasn't in the best of moods she did tolerate Connor loving on her several times today with a half amused look on her face.  One of the times she actually started patting his head as he lay in her lap.

Morgan was really into taking books out of the book rack today.  She wasn't really looking at them at all, just trying to unload it.  To distract her, I got one of the fire fighter hats and put it on her head.  She took it off right away, then she kept putting it back on by herself.  I liked this picture because she is isn't holding on to anything except the hat.  : )

11/10/2010

Morgan ate all of her dried mango bits and her whole wheat toast with jelly at breakfast.  At lunch she ate most of her beef and bean burrito, a few peas and about half of her peaches.

Morgan was pretty fussy before breakfast, but I did a lot of direct interaction and cuddling with her to help her make it until she ate.  She did nap from about 9:20 to 10:15 and seemed a little better after that.  She was fussy again after lunch until she finally went to sleep (about 1:00).  She napped for almost 2 hours, but woke up quite fussy and not easily comforted.  Usually even if she is unhappy, it is pretty easy to either tease it out of her, or comfort her with loves and snuggles and/or her binky.

Morgan is getting down from the steps in the big rooms (to big gate, to big window and on the back of the book rack) by herself at least half of the time now.  She will sometimes still fuss for help, but as often she just steps down and away she goes.

Morgan was peeking in and out of the igloo for a while today.  Jadey was in the igloo and Everson was outside of it and both of them were playing with her, which made it even more fun.  That was the happiest she was all day, I think.

She was still very busy (not lethargic at all), but just grumbled and frowned while she moved around and sometimes just stopped and sat their crying or fussing.  When I cuddled her she would settle down for a couple minutes, maybe, then start squirming to get down, fussing all the while.  Hopefully one-on-one day with daddy with be just what she needs.  : )

11/9/2010

Morgan ate all of her blueberry muffin and a couple bites of mixed berries at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her green beans and dinner roll, most of her chicken nuggets and a couple bites of cooked carrots.

Morgan saw Connor coming toward her this morning and really grinned.  When he got within touching distance, she reached out for him and when he put his head against her to love her, she kind of chuckled.  She has come to anticipate and like his loves, I think!  : )

Morgan got kind of fussy about 8:30 so I gave her her binky to tide her over until breakfast.  Bode was watching as she sucked her binky in the way that makes it kind of just quiver in her mouth.  He laughed and said, "binky jiggle!"  I think it it really funny how she does it too.  : )

Morgan was still fussy after breakfast so I put her down for a nap about 9:30.  She only slept for about 45 minutes, but was definitely in a better mood when she woke up.

Morgan was playing with one of the toddler cars today.  They have a built in handle in them, that makes it easier for the younger ones to hold onto them and drive them around.  Morgan was actually driving them a little, but she also kept trying to bonk Emily with them.  I moved her away twice and intervened several other times.  She finally gave up and moved away.  Almost all of the kiddos go through a stage about this time of experimenting with how their actions affect the other kiddos and it usually is those younger than themselves.  It is always very interesting (and often challenging for us).

11/8/2010

Morgan ate all of her Kix cereal and mixed fruit at breakfast.  At lunch she ate seconds on grilled cheese sandwich and all of her tomato soup (out of an open cup, with help) and sweet potatoes.

She was quite fussy first thing this morning so I put her down for a nap a little before 8:00.  She slept until 9:10 then had breakfast a little late.  She was in a much better mood after that and did fine until after lunch.

Connor really likes all of the babies and tries to love on one or the other of them often throughout the day.  Morgan doesn't mind it when she is sitting down.  He usually comes over and lays his head in here lap.  She usually will look down at him, pat him or grab his hair then look around and grin.  He loves it when she lets him lay there for a little.  When she gets tired of it, she usually doesn't fuss or anything, just gets up and crawls away. If she happens to be standing up holding on to something when he comes over to love on her, that is different.  She doesn't like that at ALL.  I'm sure it makes her feel like she is losing her balance and kind of scares her.  We move him away quickly when we see that situation in the works.  : )

Morgan sat on the sit-&-spin for several minutes today, gently moving it back and forth about 2-3 inches.  Even after she got off of it, she sat beside it and moved the base around without her on it.  I love how she is experimenting with movement of all kind.  She is also making a lot more dancing motions when the kiddos are dancing, singing or the CD is on.

Morgan seems to be crawling less and moving around holding onto the furniture more today.  She was also standing independently and clapping or jigging several times.  She is getting to be such a big shot!  : )
