Morgan ate all of her oatmeal and prunes at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her mandarin oranges and most of her biscuit and tatertot casserole.
Morgan had some struggles today -- a couple lengthy tantrums before breakfast and then was just kind of wiped out after breakfast. She either snuggled with me or by me or lay on the floor. She was also yawning pretty constantly, so maybe she had a rough night.
Morgan was examining and playing with the transparent rainsticks again for long periods of time a couple different times. It is pretty cool because her interst has been contagious and a couple of the other toddlers have gotten interested in it also.
Morgan was singing "Clean-up, clean-up" as she pretended to squirt the table with one of the play dressing containers and then wipe it down with the rag.

9/1/11
Morgan ate all of her cantaloupe and seconds on french toast at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her crescent roll, squash and dried mangoes and a couple bites of turkey.
I asked Morgan if she was ready for me to do her hair twice this morning and both times she told me "No" and ran and hid in the big block toy shelf. Then I asked Emily if she wanted me to do her hair a few minutes after the last time and Morgan immediately wanted hers done then, of course.
Today Morgan was trying to stack the blocks (not by interlocking them, but just loosely placing them on top of each other any which way). That was fine until she decided that she was going to try to climb and stand on them. We warned her and moved closer to break her fall if necessary. Of course, she did fall and that made her really angry, although she really didn't hurt anything.
Morgan was having so much fun playing with the play dressing bottle and a small piece of cloth this morning. She was 'squirting' the "soap" onto different things and then using the "Reeg" (rag) to "wash" whatever it was. Some of the things she washed were Jadey's arms, the table, her own hair, the kitchen set, a spot on the floor... It was fun to watch her creativity.
Morgan found one of the transparent rainsticks today and was totally enthralled. She would turn it over and shake or thump it a little until all of the beads cascaded down to the bottom then turn and repeat over and over. She played with the same one rainstick for about 30 minutes.

8/31/11
Morgan ate most of her mixed berries and all of her whole wheat toast at breakfast. At lunch she ate seconds on bean soup and all of her ham, saltines and kiwi.
Morgan has a great morning and really seemed glad to be back with her friends and the "new" toy exchange. She was exploring everything and getting and giving several hugs in between. As soon as she finished waving at you guys, she headed for the big cube shaped blocks and started stacking them. She would stack them as tall as she could (until they fell over) and then she would say either "oh-oh" or "Oh NO!" when they crashed. She did it over and over throughout the morning.
Morgan was playing in the box with some of the blocks when Thomas crawled over to the box and started bugging her. Morgan told him, "Com-com (Tom-Tom), fine (find) Gary!" trying to get him to leave her alone. I thought that was pretty advanced. Nice problem solving skills and he actually did move away from her, getting distracted before getting to Gary. Either way, she got her needs met. : )
Jadey was making faces at herself in the mirror. Her favorite seemed to be the one where you pull your mouth to the outside of your face. Morgan kept trying to imitate her, but couldn't quit smiling long enough/ to really look likke a peanut .

8/25/11
Morgan ate all of her cinnamon raisin english muffin at breakfast and seconds on blueberries at breakfast. It took her quite a while to eat her blueberry seconds, so I am thinking she was mainly wanting to do it because Bode, Jadey and Joslyn had them. At lunch she ate all of her potato salad and her canned chicken on saltines and one of her canned cherries.
Morgan really likes the changing table steps and now everytime anyone is getting changes up there she always pats her bottom and says "tinky" because she wants to get changed. It is actually really very easy to tell when she is actually stinky because she won't sit on it and also will not follow a direction. She will then tell me she is "tinky" and head over to the changing table. It is pretty cute and definitely easier on diapering clean up and not letting her bottom get sore.
Today Morgan was transferring the big interlocking blocks in and out of the "box" today a couple times. She really enjoys doing any type of tranferring like that. She may be one of those people who love to pack up and move 100 times in their lives (unlike me!). : )
Morgan played with one of the dolls and blankets (scarves) quite a while this morning. She covered the dolly up and was singing to it so cute. She also lay down my the "baby" and was singing, both to the baby and to herself. "Night-Night Morgan!" : )

8/24/11
Morgan ate all of her biscuit and her peaches at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her baked beans immediately (she loves them), her roll and broccoli and about half of her pineapple.
Morgan wrapped, fed, carried and sang to one of the dollies for many minutes this morning. She also brought her over to me to "night-night!" I rocked and sang to her until she "went to sleep" then Morgan lay her down on the floor. : )
Morgan had a couple melt-downs today. One was when I wouldn't let her take the book from Emily and the other was when my lap was full and she wanted up also. That one really made her angry. She was trying to hit both me and the other two kiddos on my lap. Gary gave her a choice to move away like a big kiddo until her turn or he would help and she still went balistic, so had a little alone time in the back room, then was fine.
One of the books out with this set is one about feelings. It has great illustrations about being excited, happy, sad, silly, angry, proud... Morgan looks at it alot. Today I sat down with her after her last melt down and we talked about how she was feeling. She actually turned to the "angry" page and pointed to it, did the sign and said "ANGRY!" It really didn't look like a coincidence. It was very deliberate, with her passing a couple other pages to get there first. She was doing some of the other signs (sad, happy) to, but the "angry" was most enthusiastic. : )

8/23/11
Morgan ate all of her waffle and hansbrowns with syrup at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her cooked carrots (subbed for peppers) and brown rice and about half of both her sauteed shrimp and orange slices.
Morgan spent a lot of time trying to get a pair of the dress-up shoes on. After about 10 minutes (without getting frustrated) she finally brought them over to me and asked for "help". I did some of it, but let her do as much as she could on her own. When we finally got them on, she was thrilled and very proud. : )
Morgan was carrying around one of the scarves today. She must have decided that it would make a great blanket because she lay down and tried to cover herself up with it then started singing the "Night-night" song we sing as we lay the kiddos all down for their naps.
Morgan was very busy with the baby legos (the kind with the one big bump to make it easy for even the babies to hook them together. She wasn't building anything with them, just transferring them from the storage drawer to the lego table and back several times. She gets so fucused on something like that. It is very entertaining to watch. : )

We back up and running since I am starting to work mornings also now. It was nice to hang out with the kiddos again this morning.
At breakfast Morgan ate most of her cheerios and her banana. At lunch she ate about half of her apple bits and all of her tomato soup (she loves that stuff!) and her grilled cheese sandwich.
Morgan was so cute dancing to the CD music thos morning. Part of the time she was dancing independently and the other part she and Jadey were holding hands and dancing. Both were just adorable. She had the biggest smile on her face the whole time.
Morgan brought over one of the timers and put it up to my ear with a big grin on her face. Sure enough it was ticking right along. I asked her if she heard it ticking and she gave me an enthusiastic "Yeah!"
Morgan played with the white dress-up shoes quite a bit today. First she worked and worked to put them on (after taking off her "flop-flops"). She managed to get one on by herself then must have decided it was too much work. She abandoned the other one and moved on. Later she was using the same shoe as a comb so she could "fix" Jadey's hair. : )
