7/14/2011

Morgan ate a bite of her cinnamon toast and all of her grapes at breakfast.  At lunch she ate no cherries and all of her homemade chicken strips, dinner roll and mashed potatoes.

Morgan went over to the cd player, pointed up at it and asked "Mewick" for me to turn on the music.  It was really cute.  When I repeated back to her what I thought she wanted she got very excited (belly pushed out and everything)!  : )

Morgan was carrying around one of the dolls today (she almost always carries the same one in this exchange).  She then bent down and kissed it on the head with such a sweet look on her face.  It was precious!

Gary was laying on his back to give it a break and relax it a bit today.  Of course, the toddlers (including Morgan) all think that is an open invitation to go over, climb on him, sit on him and try to wrestle with him.  Morgan also went over and just stood in front of him examining his face, as if trying to "read" how he was feeling.

Speaking of reading, Morgan "read" several books independently and then stayed at story time while gary read 6 of the longer books to them.  She likes reading!

7/13/2011

Morgan ate about half of her whole wheat bagel and all of her peaches at breakfast.  At lunch she ate about half of her salad with ranch, all of her corn and seconds on homemade macaroni and cheese.

Morgan was tired acting this morning.  She yawned multiple times, was staring a lot and acted out some.  I put her in her bed twice when she had melt downs, but she didn't go to sleep either time.  The attitude was showing through even when you were still here, obviously, but she went ballistic when I went to the window and encouraged her to come wave at you guys.

Morgan and Joslyn spent about 20 minutes sitting on the little yellow bench and looking at books alongside each other.  They did look at a couple together (sharing the same book), but most of the time they were each looking at their own book.

Morgan loved it when we were trimming the neighbor's apple tree (with nippers) and throwing the baby apples that were falling from it over the fense.  She kind of loved it too much because she wanted to be right in the middle of it.  I missed catching one of the branches as it came down and it scratched her left shoulder.  : (  She only cried briefly.  She was too thrilled about what was going on.

7/12/2011

Morgan ate all of her pears and seconds on blueberry muffins at breakfast.  At lunch she ate a taste of orange slices and all of her sweet potatoes and her tuna on saltines.

Morgan was crawling around with her tongue out panting today.  She then came over and stopped right in front of me until I "pet" her.  I told Gary that I thought she was pretending to be a puppy.  Morgan got all excited, pointed to herself and said, "I doggy!"  I was impressed.  She did that pretend play three different times throughout the morning.

Morgan was playing with the lego train pieces today and ran over one of the dollies (on purpose).  I commented that I hoped that didn't hurt the baby and Morgan picked the doll up, put it up to her shoulder, patted its back and said, "You OK?"  It was pretty sweet!

I said something about taking a picture of something and Morgan raced over to the changing table, pointed up behind it on the ledge where the camera sits and said, "Me too!  Me too!  Me too!"  Cute!

I asked one of the other kiddos to take the pony tail holder jar over to Gary this morning after I had cone Morgan and Emily's hair.  They weren't doing it and Morgan went over to where they were pointing at Gary to help them out.  When they still didnt' do it, she paused for about a minute, then snatched it out of her hand, said "Give Gary!" and raced it over to him.  Although we don't condone grabbing things out of each other's hands, I have to admit, it was pretty funny!  : )

7/11/2011

Morgan ate all of her fruit salad and seconds on Chex cereal at breakfast.  At lunch she drank all of her tomato soup but only ate a bite of her apple slices and her roast beef sandwich.

Morgan was not happy this morning although she did calm down a little after you left.  After about 15 minutes of trying to figure out what she wanted/what was wrong, I finally asked her if she was tired and wanted to go to bed.  She nodded her head and headed over to the gate.  I put her to bed and she slept for about an hour (until breakfast).

She was in a much better mood after she woke up and ate breakfast.  She played well with no melt downs or other challenging behaviors.  She much just be extra tired with the heat and/or whatever is going on with her little body.  Her nose didn't run at all today for us.

Morgan spent about 15 minutes "reading" to herself in the big yellow chair.  She looked at book after book and was pointing at pictures and jabbering off and on the whole time.

I think it is so cute how she comes over to me and points at her butt and says, "Tinky" when she has a poopy diaper.  That is much better than sticking her hands into it then bringing me a poopy hand to show me.  : )

7/8/2011

Morgan ate all of her oatmeal and prunes at breakfast.  At lunch she ate bites of her biscuit and all of her mandarin oranges and hashbrown casserole.

Morgan brought a plate with play food on it over to me and I was "feeding" her.  She loved it and was making munching sounds when I gave her bites.  Emily and joslyn had to come over for me to give them bites to also and Morgan really liked that!  It was so cute.

Gary came upstairs to get a new cold pack from the freezer this morning and told the kiddos "hi!" then went back downstairs.  After he went down Morgie stood at the gate and yelled, "Ga---ry!, GA---RY!"  It was really cute, but kind of sad too.  : )

Morgan has been wanting up on either Coral or my lap any time that one of the other kiddos is on our lap or is heading over to get a love.  She doesn't seem to want to miss out!  She doesn't usually stay there long, just enough to know she is special too.

Morgan was excited to do sidewalk chalk (although she mainly took chalk out and put it back rather than coloring with it).  She also loved chasing the bubbles Coral and Micala did with them while I set up lunch.

7/7/2011

Morgan ate most of her french toast and about half of her cantaloup at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her squash, most of her dried mango bits and about half of both her turkey and her crescent roll.

Morgan watched intently as Bode and his big brother Tate (visiting for the day) built a big "ship" with the big interlocking blocks.  She then watched as Tate took one block off and pretended to fill it up with gas then put it back on.  Morgan decided that would be a good job for her, obviously because she started taking one off, pointing into the opening and saying "go-go-go" then put the block back on.  It was really cute!  The boys were great about letting her help!  : )

Morgan found a truck (or "gruck" as she called it) that she really liked.  She also found one of the little people clowns and decided that it should ride in the truck bed.  She would drive (or fly) it around for a while and then bring it back over to us when he would fall out of it so we could put him back in.  What was funny about that was that she could put him back in herself.  She just wanted us to "help" her.

We moved the art table outside and finger painted all over it with bath foam today.  Morgan absolutely loved that!  She was the last one to want to be done and she had used up all of her bath foam (which I had re-supplied 3 times).  She had it on her nose and cheek, but managed to keep it out of her eyes.

Thank you for sharing the note about Morgan's "Gary" art!  That is so cute!  Gary and I both got a kick out of that and could just imagine it!  : )

7/6/2011

Morgan ate all of her whole wheat toast and thirds on mixed berries at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her ham and tropical fruit and seconds on both bean soup and saltine crackers.

Morgan was feeding her baby for a while then she handed the doll to Coral and was feeding it while Coral held it.  She also had Coral "help" her with the baby's clothes too.  : )  She likes having Coral around!

Morgan made a very interesting contraption with the big legos this morning.  Coral noticed that all of the pieces were red, white and blue, which we thought was cool.  She is so intellengent that she even knows it is the 4th of July!  : )  The same set of big legos has train pieces in it and Morgan also enjoyed pushing them around when she found some that one of the bigger kiddos put together.  She hasn't quite figured out how to put them together on her own yet.

Morgan lost or took off her shoe.  I told her to put it back on to get ready to go outside and she kind of tried for a little.  I asked her if she needed help and she just looked at me.  I then asked if she wanted me to help her and she just frowned at me.  I then asked her if she wanted Coral to help her and she got all excited and almost yelled "Yeah!"  : )
