4/23/12

Morgan ate all of her Chex cereal and a couple bites of her mixed fruit at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her apple slices and drank all of her tomato juice and a bite of her roast beef sandwich.

Morgan was being very silly today off and on.  She was saying "uh...uh...uh..." then told me "just like Thomas".  She is right.  He makes that sound a lot to get attention or when he is trying to tell us something.  The funny thing about it, though is that he wasn't here today!  : )

Morgan and Kenzie were walking around with their purses over their arms and dress up shoes on their feet.  Morgan lost one of her shoes so I said, "Uh, oh!  You blew a shoe!"  She just cracked up!  I didn't even think about why she was laughing so hard until I saw her and Kenzie all bent over blowing on their shoes!  Another perfect example of how concretely they think!  : )  (And yes, I should have known that!)

Morgan picked up one of the play flip phones to use it this morning and brought it over to me with a disgusted look on her face, saying "It got slime on it!"  Sure enough Riley had been chewing on it and it was pretty drooly.  I cleaned it off for her and all was well!  : )

It cracks me up how every time she sees or hears an airplane she always says or asks "Gonna Arizona? or "Gonna airport?"  I love how their frame of reference is so small and yet rules so much!  : )

4/20/12

Morgan ate all of her prunes and oatmeal at breakfast.  At lunch she ate all of her hashbrown casserole and a bite of both her mandarin oranges and her biscuit.

Morgan hung out with grumpy bear basically the whole time we were in the big room.  She was reading to and with him, cuddling, laying on him lounging, sitting on his lap, having him kiss every little "owie" she had...  One of the cutest was when she was sitting on his lap and announced, "Sing Songs!"  She then continued by starting to "lead" the kiddos in several songs beginning with "The bus" and "Twinkle little star".  Most of the kiddos just ignored her, but Emily was dutifully singing along with her, which Morgan loved.

Morgan and Emily actually played together well for about 20 minutes.  They were playing at the kitchen sets and table, with the baking and other food stuff.  Morgan managed to get both of the oven mitts on while they were playing and when she was done, she asked Emily, "help pull off?"  It took a little while for Emily to realize what she wanted, but she eventually did help her.

When we went to the back rooms today, Morgan was very engaged in building with the Duplo blocks.  There was part of a "house" started already and she just kept adding to that, putting a "roof" on and everything.  It was pretty creative.

4/19/12

Morgan ate all of her melon and about half of her french bread at breakfast.  At lunch she ate about half of her turkey and her squash and all of her crescent roll and her dried mangoes.

Morgan cracks me up when she calls Mia's mom, Darcy, "Darseat".  It is actually getting better though because at first it sounded more like "Car Seat".  : )

Morgan had several melt downs today (a couple minor and one major).  She was also acting quite tired today and she did wake up early from her nap yesterday so that could have been a contributor to it.  Each time she went over and cuddled with Grumpy bear when she was upset.  The major melt down was actually accentuated by one of the other kiddos already having Grumpy Bear when she need to cuddle him and Gary and I were both busy with babies so couldn't intervene quick enough.

Morgan was reading books to "little bear" today instead of Grumpy bear.  "Little bear" is obviously a little pink bear that is about 5 inches tall.  There are several that are about that size and one of them is just like it but purple.  It is always interesting to me when a kiddo picks out a certain bear (or other toy) like that when it doesn't have any real distinguishing features.

Morgan read the Humpty Dumpty book over several times today.  Every time she got to the page where he fell off the wall, she would say, "He cracked open!"

4/18/12

Morgan was using Grumpy Bear more as a comforter than a play mate today.  Every time she started to get upset about something she headed over to snuggle him or sit on his lap and have him snuggle her.  : )  She did sit him beside her while she looked at books too though.

Morgan, Jadey and Emily were all playing with the cake and other food stuff today.   Jadey was the primary server and Morgan and Emily were eating the things she served.

Morgan decided that it was "nap time" about 10:00 and announced it to everyone, then took Grumpy Bear over to the mattress to lay down.  Of course, it wasn't long until the rest of the "pack" each had a bear to cuddle with and were scattered over the rest of the mattress or nudging each other for a little more room.

Morgan up on one of the dress up ties today and was very proud of how she looked.  Obviously Jadey was impressed by how she looked also (even though she was a little confused).  She announced "She's my prince!  You can dance with me!"  This was said as she was dressed up in one of the tutu dresses.  : )

4/17/12

Morgan put on one of the tutus and was spinning and watching it poof out.  As soon as Kenzie, Jadey and Emily saw that they all raced over and put one on and started spinning also.  It is amazing how often that happens.  Our group right now travels in a pack!  : )

Morgan and Kenzie were having a minor conflict over something and she must have decided it was all better (despite the frown still on Kenzie's face) because she said "Now, let's go have some fun!"  That just cracked me up!

Morgan played with the baking/cooking stuff for a while.  She wasn't really pretending to bake or cook with it, just sorting the stuff and setting it up just the way she wanted it to.

Morgan and Grumpy Bear were buddies again today -- "reading" books together, cuddling and giving and getting kisses.

4/16/12

Morgan was thrilled to see that this set of stuffed animals has a BIG Care Bear Grumpy Bear in it.  That was her favorite play mate all day.  "I sittin' on Grumpy's lap!" she announced and sure enough she was sitting right on him.

She also spent a long time "reading to Grumpy".  I think she actually "read" or looked at every single book out with this set of toys.  Most of the time Grumpy bear was sitting right beside her.  She also brought him over to me and said, "He's a nice Grumpy" then had him kiss her band-aid.  : )

She did abandon Grumpy a couple times, but spent most of the big room play time with him.  The first time she did something without him she went over and was "making cookies with the pretend mixer and the bowl and spatula.  The second time she and Kenzie were pretending the cradle was their car and they were going to Costco.

4/13/12

Morgan was really watching as I was setting up my note taking sheets for journaling.  She then pointed to the KC and asked, "That Kenzie?", to MS and said "That me!" and then to the AC and asked, "That Layna?"  I am sure she surprises me with something she knows that I don't know she knows at least once a day!

Morgan lined all of the stuffed bears up along the window sill and then the step underneath the big window.  The big ones wouldn't stay on the sill, so they all were on the step and the little ones in the sill.

Morgan was in the space under the balance beam/climber and Kenzie started putting the stuffed bears in along side of her.  Morgan thought it was funny and encouraged her along the way.  Kenzie continued until she was pretty packed in there.  When Morgan popped herself out of it, she laughed hard and said she "poofed them out!"  It was pretty cute!

Morgan and Kenzie were filling all of the hard hats with food, tools, baby bottles and more until they were full and over-flowing.  They were either carrying them around that way or just dumping and refilling them.
