Morgan ate all of her pears and seconds on whole wheat toast at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her baked beans and about half of her biscuit (no pineapple or broccoli).
She was pretty fussy this a lot of the morning (even with an hour nap after breakfast). She would come over to me like she was wanting up, but when I picked her up she would almost immediately start squirming like she was uncomfortable and wanted down. She even fussed through most of her lunch, which is very unusual. I just don't know what was up. She was more than ready to go back down for an afternoon nap, so maybe she just didn't sleep long enough, but she woke up on her own this morning so... ??? : )
Morgan decided to see how many books she could get pulled out of the book rack and dropped on the floor before we noticed and intervened. She had all but about 5 out (that means about 20 were out) so she was pretty successful.
We gave Tate (Bode's big brother) the job of helping Morgan when she got "stuck" today. He thought he was really a big shot being able to do that. He helped her off the window step, the book rack step and the picnic table at least once. He was very kind and gentle with her as he did it, too and she acted totally comfortable with him.

Morgan ate a taste of her berries (not impressed!) and thirds on cinnamon raisin english muffins at breakfast. There haven't been very many things that Morgan just doesn't like at all, but mixed berries seems to be one of them. They went in fine, but oh the face! And out they came way faster than they went in! : ) At lunch she ate hardly anything -- we had grapes, green beans and hot dogs, but Morgan only ate the bun off of the hot dog.
Morgan didn't take a morning nap and actually did very well! She was hardly fussy at all and was busy the whole time except for a couple brief cuddling times.
Oh! Before I forget, Morgan needs diapers! She has enough for tomorrow, by probably not enough for even a day after that!
Morgan has been just taking off and strolling across the rooms so often now! It is so cute. She is doing it even if she isn't trying to get somewhere, which is when you know that it really is kicking in. Most of the time she still acts like she is a big shot, but others it doesn't seem to be a big deal to her.
She initiated a fun game of Peek-a-Boo with me today, which was great. She was at the end of the couch in the book area and I was sitting on the other end of the couch looking her way. She squatted down just so that I couldn't see her eyes at the end of the couch. She then popped up and peeked over and said "Eeee!" which I interpreted to be "Peek!"
She has really been a little escape artist lately. No matter where we are she is always trying to take advantage of an open gate or door to scoot out through. Her favorite place to escape from is either of the "back rooms". When she does manage to get out she immediately scurries to the bathroom. : )

Morgan ate all of her chex and seconds on banana at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her vegetable soup and sweet potatoes and the bread off of her ham sandwich (cut in bits). She is doing great with her cup now -- tipping it up herself and everything. She is almost always drinking at least half of it and usually more at the meal. It is one of the bigger cups, so that is probably about 4-6 ounces that she is drinking per meal.
Morgan was on my lap before breakfast this morning and Joslyn crawled over and pulled herself up to my knee. Morgan was really smiling at her, then bent over and gave her a very sweet love. Joslyn loved it. Every time Joslyn looked at her after that, she leaned back up and loved on her some more. It was very cute!
Morgan was hanging out at the big gate and fussing after breakfast, so I took her in and put her down for a nap. She only slept for about 30 minutes, but did great with just the little cat nap.
Kenzie was pretty fussy today and for a little while was screaming pretty hard even with my holding and trying to comfort her. Morgan was just studying and studying her with a frown on her face. I am not sure if she the frown was one of concern or of annoyance. : )
We have some wind-up musical toys (supposed to be radios, I think) out in the back room. I had wound them all up and then turned the buttons to off. Morgan figured out how to turn one of the on (either intentionally or accidentally) and when she did she grinned all over then started jigging to the music. She also put it on the floor and lay her ear down on top of it.
She was also doing the little A-frame head stand with her bottom up in the air again today, then looking through her legs at what was going on in the room. That always cracks me up. Almost all of the kiddos go through a stage when they do it and I always get such a kick out of it. : )

Morgan ate seconds on malt-o-meal and strawberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate most of her beef barley stew and all of her biscuit and dried mango bits.
Morgan started fussing and following me around after about 10 minutes, so I asked her if she wanted to go "night-night" and she started waving. She took about a 45 minute nap before breakfast. She did pretty well after that until not long before lunch, when she started getting tired again.
Morgan was having so much fun today wrestling with the terry bears and playing on the soft climber and mattress with Keenan, Jadey and Connor. They were all squealing and having a blast. Keenan is very good with the little ones -- interacts with them without being overbearing most of the time.
Morgan was also having fun experimenting with the food stuff again today. She always has to see what will go inside of what, how they sound when they bang together and so forth. I love this picture and how focused she is one what she is doing.
Morgan not only enjoys having fun herself, but she really notices and enjoys it when others are having fun. It doesn't matter if it is a child that is right next to her, or all the way across the room. When they are laughing and having fun, Morgan almost always is watching with either a smile on her face or she is chuckling herself. That is such a great quality for a child to have (and it isn't very common). We have found that those kiddos are usually the ones that also are more empathetic and nurturing, by nature.

Morgan ate all of her cinnamon roll and apple slices at breakfast. At lunch she was extremely tired, but did manage to eat about half on one tuna on cracker "sandwich", who whole crackers and all of her sweet potatoes. She also ate a couple bites of her cantaloupe.
I probably should have just put her down for a morning nap today, but she actually did pretty well until about 10:45, so... From then on she was OK if I was able to cuddle her, but had a couple melt-downs when I couldn't. I would imagine she will take a pretty long afternoon nap. She also had three small poopy diapers this morning that could have been contributing to the discomfort and fussiness. Usually she just does one big one in the morning and one in the afternoon here.
When she first came in she crawled over to the toy shelves and started unloading them left and right. When I asked her what she was doing, she turned around with such a cute look and chuckled!
Morgan managed to do what I have been dreading today before I could get to her. I had told you that she was not regularly crawling up onto the little picnic table top. Well, today I was in the middle of changing one of the littler babies and Gary was cleaning up BK when she did it. She toppled off of it before I could get to her. She did kind of hit the book rack a little, but I think it mainly scared her. She calmed right down when I cuddled her. I hate it when things like that happen before I can deter or intervene! UGH!!!
Morgan cuddled with me while I read LOTS of stories today. I had the kiddos bring me whatever board books from the book rack they wanted to read and I think we ended up reading all but four of them. Morgan stayed for basically the whole thing. She did get down briefly, but decided that was not what she wanted and got right back up.

Morgan ate a bite of her grapes and seconds on cinnamon toast at breakfast. At lunch she ate a bite of her pineapple and all of her ham bits, crescent roll and squash.
Morgan stayed up again today (third day in a row with no morning nap here). She did great until right before lunch when she was starting to get both tired and hungry (not a good combo). : )
You know how she was really enjoying the peek-a-boo blanket play at drop-off this morning? Well, later Jadey got one of the doll blankets and was putting over her own head and pulling it off when I said, "Where'd Jadey go?" Morgan was watching this exchange and chuckling every time she did it! :)
Morgan and Connor have been having such a good time playing together in the igloo. One of them will go inside and the other will peek in the opening at them. Both of them were really laughing about it this morning. Usually Connor is the one inside and Morgan is doing the peeking. It is really cute.
Morgan has figured out how to climb up the little picnic table in the big room (even all the way to sitting on the table top if we don't catch and stop her before she gets to that point). She hasn't figured out how to get off without help, though. That is kind of the same thing as when she would get up onto one of the steps and think she was stuck.

Morgan ate all of her pears and thirds on whole wheat bagel with strawberry cream cheese at breakfast. At lunch she ate thirds on scrambled eggs and all of her waffles, hashbrowns and fresh orange bits.
Morgan was very tired acting even before 8:00 so I changed her and lay her down for a pre-breakfast nap. She didn't go to sleep though, so I got her back up and she actually did pretty good. She had more fussy times than yesterday, but was pretty contented when Gary or I would cuddle her. She had to small (firmer-type) bowel movements after breakfast, so that may have been why she didn't go to sleep when I lay her down.
At breakfast she had a pretty good tantrum first thing. I am not sure what wasn't quite right to suit her, but we just turned her around so that the other kiddos didn't give her attention and she quite pretty quickly and then ate and drank like everything was fine after all. It was probably just from being more tired. I noticed at both breakfast and lunch that she is holding and tipping her cup up much better on her own now! Hooray! That is always nice when they get that down. : )
At story time today, Cypress and Morgan were sitting by each other on the couch. When he climbed up beside her he said, "I will help her listen!" He did such a nice job with her. At the beginning she was kind of grabbing him and bugging him, but he didn't get upset or frustrated with her at all. He just gently grabbed her hand and held it so she would stop, looking at her and smiling very sweetly. : ) Morgan stayed seated by him listening for about half of story time.
Morgan and moving more and more toward walk and away from crawling, I have noticed. I don't know how many times she would start to crawl then stop and stand up then take as many steps as she could until she fell. Sometimes she would stand right up and do it again and others just crawl the rest of the way to where she was headed.
