4/29/2011

Morgan ate about half of her raisins and all of her malt-o-meal at breakfast.  At lunch she ate a bite of her mixed fruit, about half of her salad shreds with ranch one it (all of the tomatoes out of it) and all of the meat and most of the noodles of her spaghetti.

Morgan watched as Cypress, Bode, Keenan and Jadey were playing a relaxed form of 'hide-and-seek" today.  The counter would put his (or her) face into the couch to hide their eyes while they counted.  Morgan then started to imitate it and bury her face in the couch and make counting sounds.

Morgan was quite fussy most of the morning.  She did pretty good from about 9:45 to 10:45.  I don't know if it was her shots bugging her or what, but she was just cranky in general.  On top of it, though she was determined to bug Cypress and Keenan (who got tired of it quickly) and had to be actually moved to the other side of the room because she wouldn't listen or cooperate even when we made the same type of block creation for her to be on as they had.  One of the melt-downs lasted for 25 minutes.  She hasn't had one like that (or even close) for a long time!  She wouldn't be comforted and was really screaming more than actually crying.  Whew!  That should have exhausted her! It did me just observing it and trying to give some intervention.

Last night I had a 4.5 year old here and he had built a tall and very interesting looking big interlocking block creation. Morgan studied it when she got here for quite a while then she very carefully and cautiously tipped it over and tore it apart.  She intuitively knew that it would fall on her if she wasn't careful and she didn't get hit even slightly by it.

We did play dough today and Morgan enjoyed watching what the bigger kiddos were doing and trying to imitate it.  Her two favorite things were trying to each the impression stampers and poking the dough with the handle of the rolling pin.
