Morgan ate all of her whole wheat toast with jelly and seconds on dried mangoes at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her burrito, about half of her sweet potatoes and a bite of tropical fruit.
Morgan was in 'test the limits' mode for a while this morning. We did a lot of redirecting, moving kiddos and their toys away from her and reminding her or the rules. Some of the time that worked and some not. She finally had a melt down and needed a little break from the group stress. She did much better after that. I think sometimes she just gets over stimulated or overwhelmed for some reason and it just escalates.
We played in the back, rooms for longer than usual today because the
large group thing wasn't working well today -- too many nit-picky
conflicts. My kiddos all loved playing with the farm legos in one room
and the fisher price farm stuff in the other one. We are going to start splitting into our small groups earlier when the large group isn't working well to try to deter some of the issues.
Morgan and Alayna don't play together much, but today they were in the Lego room. They were both contributing and assisting in the building of a fence. Morgan was so excited when they were doing it. She came over to me twice and said, "We playing making a fence!"
Morgan has been using her words much better over all and we haven't had any biting incidents since the last one I told you about, so that is awesome. One thing that we have been doing is to not even say the word "bite" or "biting" even when it does happen. We have just been focusing on "Oh no! You hurt your friend! We never hurt others at Gary and Lauralea's." We have noticed with other words that many times when we say them it actually puts the idea into their head (or at least keeps it fresh there).
