Happy 2nd birthday Morgan!
Morgan only ate a bite of both her french bread and her cantaloupe at breakfast. Maybe she was expecting birthday cake! : ) At lunch she finished everything to make up for it -- Turkey, crescent roll, baked squash and dried mango.
Morgan was bringing both Gary and I the picture cameras over and over today and telling us, "want 'elphant'!" We helped her find it several times. She can click the deal to change the pictures just fine. What she has a hard time with is getting the camera held right so she can see into the viewfinder on her own.
I don't know how many times Morgan came up and told us "I two" or "me two!" A couple of the times, I thought she was saying "me too" instead and kept trying to figure out what she wanted to do too. : )
Morgan was playing with some of the dinosaurs for quite a while today. After a while she took them over to the couch and lay them down on their side. She then told me, "They tired". She climbed up on the couch and lay down beside them and started singing the "Good-night" song to them. After a few seconds of that she jumped up, picked up the dinos and announced, "They wake up!" It was really cute!

10/26/11
Morgan ate all of her whole wheat toast and mixed berries at breakfast. At lunch Morgan ate all of her bean soup and crackers, most of her ham and a couple bites of kiwi.
Morgan was very disappointed that "Riley Roo" wasn't here today. She asked Kenzie's mom and Kenzie where she was several times. We finally got her convinced that she would be here tomorrow, and she kept reminding me "Riley Roo tomorrow! : )
Morgan was holding one of the play cups up to her mouth (cupped over it) and talking or making sounds into it. Kenzie watched and listened for a minute or so, then started imitating her. Morgan loved it when she saw Kenzie doing it too.
Morgan had a bunch of the dishes (and some food) in the little kitchen sink today and kept telling me, "Wash dishes". She would shuffle them around in the sink a little, then take them out. She then would put them back in and start the whole process over. She must have done that for at least 15 minutes.
I decided that Morgan was being a winter tourist (or plain photographer) today. She put a scarf around her neck then got a camera and was pointing it at people and stuff and saying, "Cheese" or "Smile". It was really cute!

10/20/11
Morgan ate most of her cinnamon raisin English muffin and all of her blueberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her canned chicken on saltines and her cherries. She also ate most of her potato salad.
Morgan has chosen the "Humpey Dumpey" (humptey-dumpty) book as her favorite in this set. What I really get a kick out of is that she looks for the "kitty" on the pages rather than really paying attention to what the book is about. I just think it is so awesome what they pick up on. I never even realized there was a kitty on a couple of the pages until she showed me. : )
Morgan was really into working with the magnetic mosaic boards this morning. They have metal pieces about the size of M&Ms behind a clear plastic front and an attached magnetic pen that you use to move the pieces around. She was very focused.
Morgan loves to play on the mattress in the back room. She is great at jumping and loves to either count 1-2-3 or "ready-set-go" before she jumps. She is also getting better and better at her somersaults. We will be doing our cold weather switch soon and bringing it out to the big room. I am sure she will love have it available more.

Morgan ate all of her biscuit and peaches at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her baked beans, roll and pineapple, as well as most ofo her steamed broccoli.
Morgan has really been enjoying the cold weather dress-up clothes that are out with this toy exchange. We always try to get them out when the weather starts getting colder so they can practice getting on their coats, boots, mittens and hats independently or with minimal help. Morgan is great about that. She gets the jackets, boots, hats and one mitten on totally independently most of the time.
Morgan has been loving to do the puzzles here lately. She can do almost all of the ones that we have that have the pictures of what the piece is underneath the piece too. The ones that are just blank underneath are a little more challenging for her, but she will work hard at it if I am sitting there with her.
When I washed her hands after lunch she started singing our "Night Night" song to herself as she headed to her nap mat. I thought that was so very cute!
Morgan was talking on one of the play phones today and said, "Hi! You comin' uh night?" twice. The second time I asked her who she was talking to and she looked at me like I should know and said, "Grammy!"

10/18/11
Morgan ate all of her hashbrowns and seconds on waffles at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her shrimp, colored peppers and brown rice and most of her orange slices.
Morgan played with the icecream carts a lot this morning. She started trying to take one that Kenzie was playing with away from her, but did a nice job of listening when Gary reminded her to "find another one that no one is playing with".
There was a bunch of crows outside the big window today that the kiddos were all lined up watching. I love how often simple things are so intriguing. If we would only keep the interest and wonder of a child... : )
We played in the back room on the climber and mattress for a while today. One of the kiddos favorite things to do back there is to stand with their backs against the wall and say, "Ready, set, go!" or just "Set, go" depending on the kiddo. Then they race across the floor and flop themselves down on the mattress. I always cringe because I just know that they are going to have a collision, but they do it all the time back there and I haven't seen a crash yet from doing it.
Morgan also came over after playing on the mattress for a while and plopped down on the floor by me. She gave a big sigh and said, "I watch kids". I don't know if the sigh was because she was tired or because it is so exhausting to wathc the kiddos! : )

10/17/11
Morgan ate a bite of her banana and all of her cheerios at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her tomato soup, grilled cheese and apple slices.
Morgan really likes the "BIG spider" that Gary hung outside the big window this morning. She would stop what she was doing and look out and say "BIG spider" multiple times today. She kind of growls the word "big".
Morgan was standing on the picnic table bench (also known and the toddler stage) : ) and singing "Do-Dah-Day!" over and over loudly this morning. We hadn't been singing it, so it came from within herself.
I was playing puppets with a couple of the kiddos today and Morgan was super interested. I, first of all, "was" a little girl who had gotten hit by another child and I didn't like it. I expressed what had happened and that it hurt! Morgan immediately came up to the puppet and gave it a hug and asked, "You ok?" It was so sweet! A little later she had a puppet on her hand (with my assistance) and was having the puppet "cry". She then held it up to her shoulder and patted it on the back and said, "Don't cry!"
I have been getting such a kick out of watching the kiddos explore the "new" toys today. One of the things that are are are cameras. Even though we have a digital camera, it still looks so funny to see the kiddos holding the cameras out in front of them rather than up to their eyes. They were all doing it and saying "cheese" this morning. It is really cute!

10/12/11
Morgan ate all of her whole wheat toast with jelly and her dried mangoes at breakfast. At lunch she ate most of her tropical fruit and about half of her potatoes and burrito.
Morgan was holding one of the play chicken legs and calling it a "popseecle" (popcicle). She was pretending to eat it and lick it and carrying it around with her. She was even pretending to feed it to her dolly. After a while she finally put it down. Kenzie came over and picked it up and Morgan immediately wanted her "popseecle" back. : )
Morgan came over to greet baby Riley this morning when she came, but really didn't play much attention to her after that.
Morgan was driving (scooting) around on her big block "Motorcycle" today. It was pretty cute because Kenzie was pushing it from the back and trying to help Morgan "Go!" Morgan was cheering her one, but the only way that it worked was with Morgan helping her.
