Morgan ate all of her pears and seconds on blueberry muffin at breakfast. At lunch she ate everything -- orange slices, sweet potato and tuna on crackers.
Morgan struggled quite a bit today -- a little too much partying over the last couple days maybe. Everything seems to set her off. Usually lately we have been able to identify triggers and either remove them or talk her through the issues before it gets to the melt-down stage, but there were several today.
One issue was the duplos. She was determined to try to collect all of the duplo characters (especially Big Bird) and didn't want any of the other kiddos to have any of them. If someone had one, she was insistent that she get it from them no matter how much we worked to help her find other ones like them or distract her with something else.
Kenzie was at the little table today and Morgan went over to her, leaned on the table with her elbow and asked, "ya want coffee?" Kenzie ignored her at first then finally went along with it, so Morgan brought her coffee after coffee. They were very engaged with it.

10/31/11
Morgan ate all of her Chex cereal and fruit salad at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her roast beef sandwich and most of her tomato soup and her apple slices.
Morgan was excited about toy exchange and spent about the first half hour or so going around and examining the new toys. She did some drumming, then helped Kenzie and Jadey stack all five of the drums up like big blocks into a "tower". She also decided to try to "tie" the drumsticks together. They are attached to the drums by short strings and she obviously knows what you can do with string. : )
She did a little fishing also, but quickly traded that in for playing with the cell phones. She had one in her hand or up to her ear basically the rest of the time we were in the big room. Most of the time she was "talk to Daddy" but mom and Grammy got a call in there too.
Gary was talking to Alayna about following the rules and who was in charge here. She then asked Alayna, "Who's the boss at home?" Morgan was apparently listening because she vigorously started patting her own tummy and said, "ME!" : ) That cracked us up!
Morgan was using the fishing pole as a "walking stick" more than to actually fish today. It took me a while to figure out what she was doing, but she got so excited when I finally did! : )

Morgan ate about half of both her prunes and her oatmeal at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her hashbrown casserole, about half of her mandarin oranges and a bite of her biscuit.
Morgan went over to the couch and pointed to the shelf where the "special books" (that we only get down when we are reading to them) as soon as breakfast was over. She knows the routine. Usually the kiddos play for a few minutes first, so that it gives everyone time to get finished with breakfast, washed and Gary ready to supervise the babies while I read (or visa-versa). She was insitant that it was time to "read tories" so we started a little early today. All of the kiddos were done, but Gary wasn't out after cleaning up yet.
While Morgan was sitting on the couch after that, she kept patting her lap and trying to get Emily to come sit "on lap". She held her hands out to her and was telling her "Come on!" Emily wasn't interested, but Kenzie heard her and climbed right on to her lap, much to Morgan's delight.
Morgan search until she found all of the dinosaur mega block bases (with their feet). She then stacked them all up on top of each other and kept brining them over for me to count. I don't know how many times we did it, but it must have been at least 6.

Happy 2nd birthday Morgan!
Morgan only ate a bite of both her french bread and her cantaloupe at breakfast. Maybe she was expecting birthday cake! : ) At lunch she finished everything to make up for it -- Turkey, crescent roll, baked squash and dried mango.
Morgan was bringing both Gary and I the picture cameras over and over today and telling us, "want 'elphant'!" We helped her find it several times. She can click the deal to change the pictures just fine. What she has a hard time with is getting the camera held right so she can see into the viewfinder on her own.
I don't know how many times Morgan came up and told us "I two" or "me two!" A couple of the times, I thought she was saying "me too" instead and kept trying to figure out what she wanted to do too. : )
Morgan was playing with some of the dinosaurs for quite a while today. After a while she took them over to the couch and lay them down on their side. She then told me, "They tired". She climbed up on the couch and lay down beside them and started singing the "Good-night" song to them. After a few seconds of that she jumped up, picked up the dinos and announced, "They wake up!" It was really cute!

10/26/11
Morgan ate all of her whole wheat toast and mixed berries at breakfast. At lunch Morgan ate all of her bean soup and crackers, most of her ham and a couple bites of kiwi.
Morgan was very disappointed that "Riley Roo" wasn't here today. She asked Kenzie's mom and Kenzie where she was several times. We finally got her convinced that she would be here tomorrow, and she kept reminding me "Riley Roo tomorrow! : )
Morgan was holding one of the play cups up to her mouth (cupped over it) and talking or making sounds into it. Kenzie watched and listened for a minute or so, then started imitating her. Morgan loved it when she saw Kenzie doing it too.
Morgan had a bunch of the dishes (and some food) in the little kitchen sink today and kept telling me, "Wash dishes". She would shuffle them around in the sink a little, then take them out. She then would put them back in and start the whole process over. She must have done that for at least 15 minutes.
I decided that Morgan was being a winter tourist (or plain photographer) today. She put a scarf around her neck then got a camera and was pointing it at people and stuff and saying, "Cheese" or "Smile". It was really cute!

10/20/11
Morgan ate most of her cinnamon raisin English muffin and all of her blueberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her canned chicken on saltines and her cherries. She also ate most of her potato salad.
Morgan has chosen the "Humpey Dumpey" (humptey-dumpty) book as her favorite in this set. What I really get a kick out of is that she looks for the "kitty" on the pages rather than really paying attention to what the book is about. I just think it is so awesome what they pick up on. I never even realized there was a kitty on a couple of the pages until she showed me. : )
Morgan was really into working with the magnetic mosaic boards this morning. They have metal pieces about the size of M&Ms behind a clear plastic front and an attached magnetic pen that you use to move the pieces around. She was very focused.
Morgan loves to play on the mattress in the back room. She is great at jumping and loves to either count 1-2-3 or "ready-set-go" before she jumps. She is also getting better and better at her somersaults. We will be doing our cold weather switch soon and bringing it out to the big room. I am sure she will love have it available more.

10/19/11
Morgan ate all of her biscuit and peaches at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her baked beans, roll and pineapple, as well as most ofo her steamed broccoli.
Morgan has really been enjoying the cold weather dress-up clothes that are out with this toy exchange. We always try to get them out when the weather starts getting colder so they can practice getting on their coats, boots, mittens and hats independently or with minimal help. Morgan is great about that. She gets the jackets, boots, hats and one mitten on totally independently most of the time.
Morgan has been loving to do the puzzles here lately. She can do almost all of the ones that we have that have the pictures of what the piece is underneath the piece too. The ones that are just blank underneath are a little more challenging for her, but she will work hard at it if I am sitting there with her.
When I washed her hands after lunch she started singing our "Night Night" song to herself as she headed to her nap mat. I thought that was so very cute!
Morgan was talking on one of the play phones today and said, "Hi! You comin' uh night?" twice. The second time I asked her who she was talking to and she looked at me like I should know and said, "Grammy!"
