Morgan ate about half of both her pears and her blueberry muffin at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her sweet potatoes, most of her tuna on saltines and a bite or two of her sliced fresh oranges.
Morgan spent some time reading books to herself this morning. She didn't want to have anyone reading with her and when they came over by her to see what she was doing she moved away to a new spot. She did this three different times. Usually she likes to "read" to the others so I am not sure why the switch today.
After breakfast Morgan came over to me and asked to "cuddle with you and write notes". During that free play time is when I can do more focused observations for my journal notes. I am sure she has asked me what I was doing before and I told her "taking notes", but I know it hasn't happened lately, so she has a pretty good little memory.
Several of the kiddos were a little feisty this morning and there were actually five different incidents of biting (only one was Morgan). They really weren't being obnoxious just extra sensitive and quick triggered. Maybe it was the holiday festivities catching up with them. : ) We were pretty much constantly on guard, redirecting or intervening.
Morgan held out her hand for me to take the "food" she was offering. When I did she asked, "It taste good?"
Just so you know, she woke up early (1:45) coughing so she only took a little over an hour nap today.

11/28/11
Morgan ate all of her Chex cereal and bites of her fruit salad at breakfast. At lunch she ate bites of her roast beef sandwich and all of her tomato soup and apple slices.
Morgan really likes Kate (which is also reciprocated)! Almost every morning when Kate leaves to go to work she races over to wave "bye" at her. I think she must have missed seeing her over the long weekend also because she had extra exuberance as she told her "Hi" when she saw her and then when she was waving at her out the window. Kate just loves it!
Morgan vocalized that she wanted to go potty after breakfast this morning. She didn't go, but she tried valiantly. She was also poopy within just 10 minutes or so, so maybe I should see if she wants to just stay in there for a while next time she tells me. Maybe she doesn't like having an audience -- I know I wouldn't! : )
I often sniff the kiddos because they have good smelling fabric softener, shampoo, lotion or something. I really don't do it consciously most of the time. Today I must have been sniffing Morgan because she leaned over and started sniffing me back. I cracked up. We did it back and forth several times and she thought that was great! She verbalized, "I 'niff you!" which I thought was also funny! : )

11/23/11
Morgan ate everything at breakfast and lunch. Breakfast was whole wheat toast and mixed berries. Lunch was kiwi, biscuit and hashbrown casserole.
Morgan played with Kenzie a lot today. It didn't really matter what they were doing they were basically together the whole time. If Morgan moved away without Kenzie noticing, she would come over to me and ask "Where Morgie go?" It was pretty cute and Morgan liked having her for a playmate.
All of the bigger kiddos were using the "sidewalk" that Gary had made for a 'stage' to sing and dance on. Morgan is balanced enough that she did pretty good. The others fell off frequently. It isn't very wide.
Morgan was using the play thermometer as a toothbrush today. It took me a while to figure out what she was doing because she was sticking it WAY into her mouth, moving it back and forth then going over to the sink and pretending to spit in it. The spitting was what gave it away for me! : )

11/22/11
Morgan ate all of her whole wheat bagel and dried apricots at breakfast. At lunch she ate everything -- baked fish, applesauce and pea pasta salad.
Morgan was building really big towers with the big interlocking blocks today. One of the times that it was way over her head, she accidentally knocked it over onto Kenzie. She did a nice job of giving her a hug and seeing if she was "okay". After that she was very careful to look where the block were going to go to make sure it wasn't going to hit anyone.
Morgan has really been into confessing when she does something wrong, especially when it involved hurting one of the kiddos. If we haven't seen what happened or only saw the end, we will usually ask the 'victim' "What happened? Often they won't say anything, but Morgan has came up several times over the last week and confessed , "bite Joslyn", "hit Thomas", "push Kenzie"... Although that doesn't make it better we do thank her for telling us, then still have her give them a love and ask if they are alright (and take a break, depending on the offense).
Morgan is so cute when she sings while she is reading, playing, walking around or whatever. She sings a lot of different songs that we sing all the time and a couple that I don't know, but can hear a word here or there. She has pretty good note pitch so I can usually tell what she is singing if it is one I know by the tune even if I can't hear the words.

Morgan ate all of her bran flakes and craisins at breakfast. At lunch sh ate all of her green beans with bacon bits (substituted for cauliflower), her cheese pizza and her tropical fruit.
Morgan was dancing and then falling down, saying "Fow down!". I think she got it from a song we have on CD and also sing where we do different motions (stomp, hop, kick), "then we all fall down!" They love it and we always have to do it multiple times.
Morgan asked me for the "balloon song" several times today also, but I still haven't been able to figure out what it is. I really don't think we have a song about a balloon, so it must be a different word that sounds like it, but I can't figure it out!
Kenzie was holding hands and dancing with Jadey and Morgan. Usually when they do that it ends up just being a fall down party, with one of them always trying to pull the other ones down on top of them. Today they actually danced quite a bit and the falling down was accidental for the first 10 or so minutes.
The kiddos all really enjoyed watching the city crew scooping up leaves with the front end loaders and dumping them into the dump trucks. Sadly there weren't many leaves where they would watch out the big window so it didn't take very long, but they were enthralled while it lasted!

11/18/11
Morgan ate all of her malt-o-meal and raisins at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her salad with ranch dressing, all of her spaghetti and most of her mixed fruit.
Morgan pays attention so well when we ask her to help us with something. Her ears are really programmed for that kind of stuff. Even if we ask someone else to do it instead of her, she is right there and ready just in case they don't do it and she can instead. Sometimes we even have to remind her that we asked whoever it was this time because she tries to do it anyway. Now if we could just get her hearing to work that great in all the other arenas. : ) No, really she had been listening pretty well lately! : )
Morgan was playing in the "box" today with Jadey and Kenzie. They were cheering and chanting and Morgan said, "Go Griz!" multiple times. She then lit up and said, "Go Griz! Go Niners!" Gary and I cracked up!
Morgan was playing great with all of the kiddos and having no conflicts or other problems. Out of the blue, she walked over to the couch, climbed up and sat in the corner of it and said, "I take a break!" I guess she must have either been tired or a little overstimulated even though it looked like she was doing great! : )

Morgan ate all of her blueberries and about half of her cinnamon raisin English muffin at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her canned chicken on saltines, potato salad and a couple bites of canned cherries.
Morgan carried around the "owie baby" (the one with the eye we put the band-aid on) a lot today and kept bringing her over to me and asking, "What happened?" None of the stories I could come up with seemed to appease her, so I finally just told it, I didn't know but it was broke. She was fine after that!
Morgan asked for "baby Luga" (Baby Beluga) on the CD today and was so excited when it came on. As soon as it was over she asked for it again. We played it three times straight before letting the CD go on. : )
Morgan was first sitting on a set of blocks then started pushing them around making a motor sound. She volunteered that it was "My cool (school) bus". As soon as she said that, three of the other kiddos were right there wanting to ride on the "cool" bus too, which she let them do, but couldn't push it then.
