Morgan ate all of her dried apricots and about half of her bagel at breakfast. At lunch she ate everything -- tilapia, applesauce and pea-pasta salad.
Kenzie and Morgan were all spiffed up in the dress up stuff today
complete with boots, hat, coat and scarf. It was really cute. They
both wore them for quite a while and were pretending to "go work" and
"go home".
We have this little rhyme chant that we "sing" that goes,
"Hickety-pickety bumble bee, please say your name for me" then the
little laminated bee buzzes around until I "get" someone with his
stinger and they say their name and then we clap out and say the
syllables. Morgan just loves the anticipation of the bee getting her
and then telling me her name and all of us saying it together. She also loves saying the names of the ones that don't talk yet.
In the back room we have out these little fisher price type
dinosaur cave deals. Well, either Morgan or Kenzie decided that they
were computers and they were using them as such the whole time we were
in the back room. Morgan said she was doing "homework" on it and also "work". It is just so cute!
We have been working on signing quite a bit again the last week or so and Morgan is getting good. She can identify many of them when I do the sign and can show me the sign for several of them in addition.
Excellent potty training day again today!

2/20/12
Morgan ate about half of her craisins and her bran flakes at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her cheese pizza, steamed cauliflower and tropical fruit.
Morgan was very engaged and busy with the "new" toy exchange toys this morning. She played with the dress-ups (coats, hats, scarves, boots...) and the stuffed animals more than anything.
Morgan did excellent with toilet learning today! She told me all but one time this morning, is still dry and acts like she has been doing it for weeks! I am sure that using panties is going to be successful!
Morgan asked for me to read stories from about 10 minutes after she came until we actually did after breakfast at story time. I got out about 10 of the bigger books (not baby board books), thinking their interest would probably only last for about 4 or 5 of them, but they kept wanting me to read 'more' each time I asked and everyone stayed to listen except Peyton and Thomas.

Morgan ate about half of her malt-o-meal and raisins at breakfast.
At lunch she ate everything -- spaghetti, salad with ranch and mixed
fruit.
Morgan had another excellent potty training day. She was dry all morning and told me she needed to go potty twice in addition to the scheduled times. One of the times she pooped and the other she peed. She also went both of the other times we took the group. She is just loving it!
Morgan and Kenzie played together for a little while this morning. Morgan took Kenzie over to an area away from the other kiddos, started to pretend to cry, then told Kenzie, "Cry, Kenzie, cry!" After a few seconds, Morgan then told her "stop crying now!" I guess Kenzie must have decided that Morgan was being a little too demanding because she then left Morgan and played with Jadey most of the rest of the morning.
Morgan announced, "I ride two eccalators (escalators)!" today. I am assuming that was a carryover from last weekend in Vegas. : ) It cracks me up what the kiddos think of and when.
Gary has put some nice soothing instrumental music on in the back room when we went back and Morgan looked at him with a kind of puzzled look and said, "Music on!" I guess she just didn't think that qualified as music! : )

Morgan ate about half of her cinnamon raisin English muffin and all of her blueberries at breakfast. At lunch she ate all
of her potato salad and her canned
chicken on saltines. She also had her tasting bite of canned cherries.
All of the kiddos were quite entertained today when I showed her the sign language cards I just got and we learned several new signs. We use some of the self-expression signs on a regular basis (please, thank you, move back, help me...) but not many beyond those. This set of cards probably has about 40 signs on it and we will be using them regularly.
All of my "big" kiddos spent time looking at books. They just can't get enough of them. When I asked if they wanted me to read to them, they all made a beeline for the couch! It is pretty cute to watch. One of our goals is to sow an interest in and love of books, so we love seeing them react this way.
We got out some purple bath foam and everyone, except Emily just dived right in, spread it around and started drawing on it with their fingers and otherwise exploring it. It took Emily until about halfway through art time to get going, but then she also loved it. Morgan was so into it and just kept looking at Emily like she couldn't figure out why she wasn't doing it at first.
Potty training went well -- two times peeing in the toilet, one that she didn't go, and a dry diaper until nap time again.

Morgan ate all of her peaches and second on biscuit at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her baked beans, a bite of pineapple and about half of both her dinner roll and her steamed broccoli.
Morgan has done GREAT potty training today. Her diaper has been dry all morning and she has told to she wants to go potty two times other than our trips to the potty. She has four sticker on her chart (all from today) and is very proud of it. In addition to just going, she is actually going a lot and staying dry in between, which are both good readiness indicators.
On a different, but related topic, I was holding up the different sticker charts and she knows whose chart belongs to who. Now there is really only one way she can be doing that and that is to recognize the names, because a couple of them (Kenzie's and Alayna's had the same number of stickers on them). She is a smart little whooper!
Morgan and Kenzie were doing a lot of pretend play today. One of them was to pretend they were sad and crying. They would go somewhere by themselves and start "crying" then come over to me for a love. At first I thought they were really crying (it was pretty realistic)!
The other thing that Jadey actually started, but Morgan and Kenzie really ran with was pretending to "go potty in pot". They would sit on one of the play cooking pans and strain like they were trying to go potty! Oh my goodness, it was funny! : ) Don't be surprised if you see potty themed play at home too. They have been talking about it and playing it a LOT! : )

Morgan ate all of her hashbrowns and second on waffles at breakfast. At lunch she ate all of her shrimp and red pepper and only a bite of her brown rice and her orange slices.
Morgan is definitely Kenzie's favorite and she has been so glad that Morgan is back. She just follows her around like a little puppy dog, doing and saying whatever Morgan is doing or saying. One of the cutest things they were doing together today was playing like they were giving their dolls baths. They were using the doll blankets for towels and spending a lot of time "dryin' baby off!" : )
There was an Elmo song on the music today and Morgan really listened intently to it until the very end. When it was over, she cheered, "Yea, Elmo!" : )
Morgan kept bringing me the handkerchiefs and saying, "I want a 'Montana'!" After listening and watching for a while, I am sure she was trying to say 'bandana' because that is what Gary calls them.
Morgan tried to go potty three times today, but had no successes. She was thrilled for the successes Alayna and Kenzie both had though!

Morgan ate all of her cheerios and a couple bites of her banana at breakfast. At lunch she drank all of her tomato soup and ate about half of her grilled cheese sandwich and maybe a bite of her apple slices.
Morgan was testing the limits this morning to see if anything had changed after being gone for a couple days. We gave her several chances to "make a good choice" and reminders, then finally had her go play in the back room for a couple minutes. She had a totally different attitude when she came back out to join us.
Morgan wanted me to fix her "crazy hair" this morning and specifically asked for a "whale spout", so I put a pony on top of her head. She raced over to the mirror to see it and started chuckling! Emily was watching as we did Morgan's and then she also asked for a "whale spout".
We have started the second round of toilet training and this is the plan I am using. I will take all of the oldest 5 to the kiddos to try to use the toilet at 8:00. 9:30. 11:00/or before nap (depending on their level and interest), and after nap. In addition I will take any of them that tell me they need to go (as long as they haven't already just gone), and if I see them straining or looking like they are about to poop or pee. I have purchased some cute little hand print charts with room for 25 mini-stickers. Each time a child goes pee they can put one sticker on the chart and each time they poop they get two to put on. When they get their sheet filled they can take it home. If you want to get them a treat or fun family night other reward for completing the chart, that is totally up to you. Since I am investing a considerable amount of time and energy into this, I am asking that you make sure to dress your kiddo in elastic waists (or dresses) and no onesies, bib overalls, or pants with buttons or snaps. You guys do a good job with that over all anyway, but I am just letting everyone in the group know. We will do this intensive training for two weeks and reevaluate to see who to continue with at that point. So far we have two kiddos with "successes" today (Alayna and Kenzie). If you have any specific concerns or info to pass on regarding this attempt, please let me know.
Kenzie was so glad to see Morgan and followed her around faithfully all morning. Every time Morgan moved away from her even slightly, Kenzie would ask her "What doing, Morgie?" Morgan seemed to be glad to see Kenzie too, but really didn't make as big of a deal about it.
